1971 Porsche 911E

The 911E is a model that I particularly like. It won’t have the frenzied investment potential of a 911S, but it makes for a good investment while also possessing a few advantages over the 911T. All 911 models from these years are worthwhile in their own right, though there is a shifting balance between driver and investor and finding the right car is not always easy. The example we see here comes in the very period-correct color of Sepia Brown: a one-owner 1971 Porsche 911E, located in California, with a claimed 16,000 miles on it. Sepia Brown would not qualify as my favorite shade on a 911, but brown on brown does tend to fit the period and still serves as a departure from many of the standard colors we see today.

Ideal for the Porsche enthusiast looking for the pinnacle of collectability. It is only original once. Original cars have been setting new records at auctions due to their rareness.

This is a wonderful and rare car. Not only is the car original but it is excellent. If you prefer to not do auction bidding please contact me

The seller has provided a whole host of detail pictures, as well as a variety of receipts to document some of the work done to the car. There aren’t a lot of great full shots, but in many cases with a car like this it’s the details that matter most. Everything here appears to be original and as a one-owner car we can hope for a thoroughly documented history. The mileage will need verification, though with a recently rebuilt engine mileage concerns tend to be less of an issue on a car of this age. All in all, a very nice car for the period. Bidding currently sits at $78,900, which is below where I’d expect and also quite a ways from the BIN price. Presumably bids will have to come up quite a bit, but perhaps with some work post auction someone could grab this at a decent value.
