We’re seeing red here at GCFSB today. Following on to the Flash Red 1992 Volkswagen Corrado SLC we featured earlier today, here is a Signal Red 1987 Mercedes-Benz 560SEC. Most of these C126 coupes you come across are painted in more muted hues, but a flashy color like this almost fits in with the bold style of the 1980s…as long as you don’t see it on a stock market tracker. For sale in New Jersey, this low mileage SEC is a classic, pillarless coupe that mixes the conservative style with an avant-garde touch.

1987 Mercedes Benz 560 SEC

70,058 Miles

Rare color combination.

The vehicle runs and drives beautifully! All power options function 100%, cold AC and the original Becker Stereo sounds great. Red exterior maintains a showroom shine and palomino leather is beautiful and rich. Interior has no dash crack and burl wood inlays are nearly flawless with a mirror like shine. This is a collector quality car that was always garage kept and covered at all times when not in use.

Engine bay is exceptionally clean and ready for show. Current owner is Mercedes Benz collector and enthusiast. The W126 Coupes are considered by many enthusiast to be the “sleeper” of the collector car market. Here is a chance to buy a clean and well maintained example at a great price. There are a handful of W126 coupes currently for sale on the market today but very few are in this condition.

Vehicle is located in Tinton Falls, NJ 07753

Inspections welcome and encouraged!

Compared to its successor, the W140 SEC/CL Coupe, the C126 has a much more delicate look about it, whereas the slab sides of its successor were a bit more deliberate. SEC prices have been hovering in the $15,000 to $20,000 territory for good examples, with exceptional examples bringing a little bit more. A few sellers have priced ultra low mileage examples well over the $30,000 mark, but they haven’t been moving fast at those rates. The color may or may not play into this car’s favor, but I’d guess that somewhere in the $16,000 to $18,000 is about right, considering the reasonable mileage.
