File this one under cheap thrills. If an E30 M3 is too rich for your blood, there’s plenty of affordable E30s out there, many of them with the creamy smooth M20B25 2.5 liter inline six engine. While it may look a tad staid in beige with a tan cloth interior, this 325i sedan for sale in Illinois has the all important six cylinder engine/five-speed manual combination. As the former owner of an E30 with this same drivetrain setup, I can unequivocally say that it’s one sweet package.
Engine: 2.5 inline six
Transmission: 5-speed manual
Mileage: 128,040 mi
This 325i sedan is priced right around the average of what similar examples are fetching nowadays. Anywhere between $3,500 and $5,000 should buy you a solid runner, with exception, lower mileage examples potentially bringing another $1,000 to $2,000. For this particular car, there wasn’t much of a description or history provided. If the dealer could provide a reasonable amount of color and perhaps furnish some records, I’d personally go as far as $4,000, but not much more. However, this 325i proves that you don’t have to be rich to enjoy old school German engineering. There are plenty of great driving machines that can be had in good shape for not a whole lot of cash. Many thanks to our reader Floyd for bringing this 3er to our attention.
