1989 BMW 325ix Touring

Manual, all-wheel drive station wagon. Magic words almost for those in the northern climates or for those seeking the cure for the common SUV. BMW passed up the chance to offer one of their most versatile cars to US customers in the late 1980s. Now, 25 years on, we see just how popular it could have been with enthusiasts importing E30 Touring at a rapid clip. The E30 Touring was offered in “ix” trim, giving an added all-weather dimension to this compact hauler. This 325ix for sale in Florida has got the goods. Reasonable miles, 5-speed manual and left-hand drive.

We’ve seen a number of those E30 Tourings sell over the last couple of years, helping us hone in on the market for this not-for-US sale model. Typically, these small estates hover in the $7,000 to $14,000 range, with a few outliers. Depending on your climate, the 325ix with the 5-speed manual is a very desirable model, with the 325i and 320i Touring up there, as well. There’s a few things that need to be addressed on this car, such as the missing radio and what looks to be a missing headlamp leveling switch left of the steering wheel. But otherwise, this is reasonable mileage for the year and I like the basic features like cloth seats and crank windows. With the amount of bidding activity, I’d suspect this one might wind up around the $12,000 to $14,000 territory.

Orlando, Florida seller conveniently overlooks the absence of A/C. These imported e30’s rarely have functional air conditioning.

Paul, thanks for the exposure! This is truly a great little car. I picked it up while traveling in Europe and had a blast driving all over with it. If you have any questions about the car feel free to reach out to me at 5DoorE30@Gmail.com.

Dean – you are correct about the A/C. Very few euro spec models came equipped fortunately my E28 M535i that’s also up for sale did! http://www.ebay.com/itm/161716901497

Better no stereo than some atrocious and cheap replacement already in situ.

This would have been the perfect car for me when I was recently in the search for a manual awd wagon. This is a really nice setup. Luckily I wound up in something just as cool, a 200 20v avant which has been featured here twice 🙂
