1990 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Coupe

I really like this 911. That kind of goes without saying since I don’t typically feature cars I don’t like, but I mention it simply because I like it more than I’d normally expect. It has an elegant look about it that is working well with the 964’s shape. The color is great, possessing the stormy blue-grey appearance of a rough sea just as the name, Marine Blue, might suggest. Even the Linen interior makes for a nice contrast between exterior and interior and further enhances the storminess of the exterior. All in all, it’s a really nice looking car!

964s suddenly have become a rather common feature for me, not because anything has changed with my own feelings toward them, but rather there just seem to be a lot more nice looking, driver quality, examples coming on the market. I think for those who might particularly desire one of these 911s this is a good time to be looking. There are a lot out there and prices are remaining fairly reasonable, though they do appear to have inched up a bit.

This particular Carrera 2 presents quite well inside and out and is typical of what I find from this dealer – and part of why I tend to gravitate toward many of the cars from this dealer. They aren’t going to blow you away, but they appear to be solid cars and priced reasonably well. This one is mostly original outside of the radio and is said to come with an excellent service history. After a perusal of its records and a PPI I think someone is likely to walk away with a pretty fine 911 here.

I agree this is an attractive 964. Good colors, its a two wheel driver, and it appears to be in decent cosmetic shape. The price looks to be fairly reasonable considering todays 964 market.

Rob… I also agree with your comments on this dealership. They seem to have a nice inventory of driver quality 911’s which they don’t try to gussy up and present as something they are not. They seem to be pretty fair with the descriptions and are comfortable selling the cars as good drivers. Too many of these dealers who have jumped into the air cooled game often put lots of lipstick on pigs and try to pass them off as “collector” level vehicles seeking a high price. Over the last 6 to 8 months many of them are languishing on those dealers lots.

My only caveat is, this being a 1990 with no apparent top end rebuild… understand it may be a leaker since its not had the cylinder base gasket retrofit.
