1990 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia

s-l1600
Here’s a nice Weekender for your weekend with just 71.5k miles and a lot of potential. Actually, to be pedantic, the Weekender option was just a third-row bed on tin tops, but it’s come to be a colloquial name for any Vanagon with a folding bed but no kitchen. So, technically, the Multivan is a tidy little package that offers the comfort and sleepability of the full Vanagon camper without the stove, fridge, or sink. With a camp stove and some Platypus bags, however, you could whip up a fresh batch of great time camping with some friends in this thing. Bidding has been extremely hot for this kitchenless Westy despite some paint and minor electrical defects.

New 15″ alloys
New 15″ tires
Tinted windows
Dash cop holder
New alpine Bluetooth stereo and speakers amp and subwoofer.
New Canvas for pop top
South African 4 Light Headlight Grill

Odometer reads 71k. It has been a California van its entire life until August of this year when we moved to the mountains. I now need. 4×4 and this is why I am selling. It was maintained by Mesa West in Costa Mesa and I have all the receipts since I have owned it. Always garaged once I got to the mountains.

Interior is in good shape. Clean and no tears. Drivers seat has 2 holes in seat about the size of a pencil eraser. See Photo.

Paint is worn but gives it some character. Has some surface rust but other than that has no rust anywhere underneath or anywhere else. Check photos to see.

Engine is strong and maintained regularly. Had belts and coolant hoses replaced within last year

I will ship but you have to arrange.

Even with some weird paint smudging, the South African grille, black valences, and new wheels come together to make a sweet little van. Whether you continue the surf life it’s led or take it away from the coast and into the hills, this minimalist Westy can get the job done without too many frills. Despite the high number of bids it’s still hovering around $12k. I’ll take the strong mechanicals in lieu of perfect paint, and under $15k seems like a nice deal for this Westy.

A very nice van. The housing and cargo traits of a van without the trappings of finicky fixtures like refrigerator, stove, and plumbing. Multivan is a perfect name. 4WD would be a big (costly) bonus, but with careful and smart driving you can get close enough in 2WD most of the time.
    This is a smart rig.
And those wheels! Yo, those wheels look as good as Dials, look as good as any wheels I’ve ever seen on a Bus.
    Ondas!
