1991 Porsche 911 Turbo

One day I will cease to be surprised by the continued rise of the air-cooled 911 market, but today is not yet that day! The market for fast 964s possibly has been the craziest among the entire 911 line. Long hood values have risen quite a bit, but many of those cars have been quite valuable for some time now, and while we’ve seen the value of the 3.2 Carrera and 930 rise significantly, neither seems to match what’s going on with the 964, perhaps excepting the standard Carrera 2. There are the obvious examples like the RS America and Turbo 3.6, but even the first 964 Turbo, carrying over the 3.3 liter flat-six of the 930, is rising in value significantly. Granted some of the rise I see comes through asking prices rather than sales, which can be difficult to track accurately, but it seems clear where the market is going. This brings us to the car we see here: a Triple Black 1991 Porsche 911 Turbo, located in Connecticut, with 37,000 miles on it and pretty high asking price of $134,900.

The Classic Car Gallery is offering this absolutely amazing, COLLECTOR GRADE example of the iconic PORSCHE 911 (964) turbo. This car is the REAL DEAL. With only 37,000 miles, she is both mechanically and cosmetically superb. The SHWARZ BLACK paint is excellent and the BLACK leather interior is supple all surfaces are crisp and fresh. The paint meter shows 4-4.5 around the entire car. Her electric power seats are in great condition, as is the rest of the interior All of the electrics work as they should. The original BLACK carpets are in fine shape. The car is original and stock except for an aftermarket FABSPEED exhaust resonator; she makes a wonderful noise. This low mileage turbo runs flawlessly and her original 5-speed G50 transmission shifts as new. This is truly one of the finest Porsches we have ever seen, and would make a fine addition to any collection. All of the accessories work as they should, and the A/C blows cold. Always enthusiast owned, this time capsule, has had the best of everything lavished upon it. All service records are available, including an engine out service with valve adjustment and new seals. We have FULL DOCUMENTATION, INCLUDING A COPY OF THE ORIGINAL WINDOW STICKER. Needing nothing, this collector grade car runs as well as she looks. If you are looking for the finest turbo, look no further. Please feel free to call at 203 256 9800 or email to Steven@classiccargallery.com with any question you may have.

Everything here pretty much presents as it should, though there is a way in which these pictures actually make this Turbo look, dare I say, somewhat pedestrian. There’s much less of the menace generally manifested by a triple black 911 Turbo, and frankly it is that menace that provides many of us so much excitement when coming across one of these. Of course, anyone genuinely interested in this car will know all about its reputation and ability so the pictures shouldn’t make much difference in this car reaching its asking price. About that: this ask is very high, certainly stretching the top of the market. That said, anyone hoping to own a 964, whether as a collector or simply out of love for these machines, can’t wait too long. Values show little sign of slowing their rise.
