1992 Porsche 911 Turbo

If Thursday’s 3.6 Turbo S has you thinking about the 964 Turbo, but perhaps not one sitting at the very top of the market, then the car here may suit your needs a little bit better. Here we have an example from the first iteration of these cars that utilized a refined version of the 930’s well-known 3.3 liter turbocharged flat-six. While the 3.3 liter 964 Turbo doesn’t have quite the power of the later 3.6 Turbo, it relies on a proven powertrain that still delivers exceptional performance capable of providing plenty of wild rides for any driver whose attention wanes at the wrong moment. While the Carrera 4 first was introduced with the 964, the 964 Turbo itself remained rear-wheel drive only. The example here is a Guards Red over Black 1992 Porsche 911 Turbo, located in Ohio, with only 36,630 miles on it.

The interior of this 964 appears to be in remarkably good condition. The seats, dash, and carpets show very little wear and should serve as a testament to the overall care this car has been shown during its life. The exterior also looks in fine shape and given the mileage these are things we would probably expect. That condition comes at a price though, and this one is very high (even if the ad says it’s priced to sell fast!). With bidding at $90,000 and the reserve unmet this one is destined for six-figure territory if it’s going to see a sale. I’m not sure the 964 Turbo has quite reached those heights in general, but we will have to see where this one ends. All together, this is an excellent looking example from the final year Porsche utilized the 3.3 liter turbocharged flat-six in the 911 and is sure to bring someone plenty of smiles.

So nice but TOO LOW of mileage to make into a driver now. Will be a show piece for the next buyer and rarely seen on the road, sadly. Beautiful but not my first choice of color (I certainly wouldn’t turn it away though…;)
