Looking over the pictures, this car looks fairly straight. The upholstery, in true Mercedes fashion, has worn well over the years and even the wood trim is pretty free of any defects. If the car has had its wiring harness replaced and winds up being as good as it looks in pictures, the asking price is fairly reasonable considering you are getting one of Mercedes’ greats, a workhorse of an estate car that is set off nicely by a healthy dose of luxury and class.

These are truly fantastic cars. As a Merc specialist, I’ve worked on more than a few of these and without question, if you want economy, comfort, reliability and load carrying capability, a late W124 estate is it. Forget the W210, those are rust buckets. This car shown above, with 131K on it, isn’t even broken in—you should expect an easy 250K out of it. Trouble spots are; wiring harness, head gasket and throttle actuator. Beyond that, pretty well bulletproof.

Oh, and in this color (DB904 blue), I LOVE it!
