1996 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe

I have a thing for yellow 993s. I like a variety of yellow cars in general, though it doesn’t work well on every car. I also like the 993, though it isn’t my favorite 911. The two taken together work wonderfully and I think of the various yellow 911 models it is the 993 that looks the best. Maybe it’s the shape; maybe it is that the 993 has fewer trim and accent pieces allowing that bright yellow exterior to show more fully. Whatever the particular reason I love it and it provides just what I’m after in a yellow car. The one we see here is a Speed Yellow 1996 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe, located in Miami, with Black interior and just 24,846 miles on it and it’s up for auction without reserve.

At first I was surprised this 993 wasn’t selling. Given the mileage and that it looks in pretty nice shape the asking price seemed very reasonable. Of course, that always makes me wonder what’s wrong with it and in this case we have a hint: it’s had an accident. Reportedly it was of the minor variety. For some buyers that’s enough to immediately move on to the next car. For others, it might represent an opportunity. For those in the latter camp some digging into the records hopefully will tell us just what sort of accident it was and whether it was indeed minor. If it was minor, then this 993 should be had for a much more reasonable price than most other options. Those interested in long term value may need to look elsewhere, but getting your hands on a low-mileage 993 to use as a driver doesn’t happen too often and that this one comes in one of the desirable pastels makes it all the more appealing.

Starting bid of 60k with an accident on the carfax. No thanks. The pictures are so retouched you cant ever tell what the car really looks like.

If you are going to emphasize the original options so prominently, put the original wheels back on the car.
