Convertible Week: 1998 BMW M Roadster

When it was introduced, the BMW M Roadster quickly caught the attention of those who thought the non-Motorsport variety Z3 Roadster was a bit weak in the knees. Even though the US version was initially short on horsepower versus its Euro market counterpart, 240 horsepower was nothing to sneeze at in such a small package. Then the M Coupe arrived on the scene. Still a two-seater, this sports car with a breadvan profile was a bit misunderstood at first. Now, however, it’s popularity is eclipsing that of the M Roadster, leaving prices for the open roofed version lagging a bit. This M Roadster for sale in Florida is a lower mileage example, wearing the rare Evergreen hue that at times polarizes opinions.

Thanks for looking at our beautiful BMW M Roadster. This car was a lucky find. This was someone’s prize jewel. The exterior is like new with really not a mark on it. No bumper scuffs at all. Appears to be 100% original paint. Very rare gorgeous color combo! It has a brand new Evergreen convertible top. The interior is like new as you can see in the pictures. very minimal wear and no Sun damage at all. It has factory “M” floor mats. Really super nice interior! It is a loaded car with every option including Cold Weather Package and the factory trunk luggage rack which is in the trunk with all the factory BMW hardware. We have all the original books in the case. Under the hood is neat as a pin and is 100% bone stock. This M Roadster hits the road brand new and was just serviced with a fresh oil change and four brand new Falken tires. Great value for someone and great future value potential. Considering the mileage, the price for this M Roadster is in the ballpark, if priced a little bit high. Evergreen isn’t a color that would be on the top of everyone’s shopping list, but I’ve always enjoyed it. It might, however, make for a bit of a tough sell, as the matching interior could be construed as too much of a good (or bad) thing. Last August, we saw a 1998 M Roadster with about half the mileage sell for $100 less than the Buy It Now price we see here. It might take a bit of bargaining to move the metal, but I suspect these drop top pocket rockets might be the next domino to fall in the M car appreciation game.

Such an amazing color, but did they ever hear of cleaning the interior up a bit before listing if for sale??
