1998 Porsche 911 Carrera S

Here we turn to what is for me the prettiest model of the 911. Not the best (though it ain’t too shabby!), but the prettiest. With its wider rear adding to its curvier lines all elevated by the taller greenhouse, the 993 Carrera S makes for a very alluring 911. And relative to its successors, who have retained some of the model’s curves if in a flatter form, the 993 remains on the relatively smaller side. When seen today we are reminded that 911s aren’t large cars and while the current models still wouldn’t be considered large that is partly because everything else has gotten bigger as well. The Carrera S puts the 911’s athleticism on full display quite well. Here we have a Arctic Silver Metallic 1998 Porsche 911 Carrera S located in Halifax with just 31,530 miles on it.

1998 Porsche C2S. Two owner Canadian car. 31,530 miles (50,742 kilometers). Arctic Silver Metallic with black interior. Locking differential with ABD, 18” techno wheels with crest; cruise control, factory alarm, sunroof, CDR-210 radio, tools, tire inflator, two keys, all manuals / books.

The car has been rarely used, meticulously maintained and stored in a climate controlled environment since its acquisition by the current owner.

The condition of this car is outstanding. The original paint appears near flawless. The original wheels are unblemished. The interior shows no signs of wear. They don’t get much better than this.

Detailed pictures are available on request.

Even in Silver this is a pretty nice looking 911. The condition appears quite good so that obviously plays a role, but still it’s a color that seems to work well on the 993. And, of course, everything is said to be original. The seller has provided pictures that show the color under two different lighting conditions (or perhaps different ways of touching up the photos) so we get a nice sense of how the color changes. The interior, which admittedly we don’t see much of, looks in good shape. The Carrera S, due to its limited numbers and sporting pedigree, has shown pretty high demand among the 993 line and even though this price is high it wouldn’t necessarily shock me to see it snatched up. The Carrera S doesn’t have the rarity of some of the really rare 911s, but fewer than 4K units isn’t a ton once we’re nearly 20 years down the road.

Nice looking car, an obviously desirable car. The markets not really at $100k plus on these things… yet. In the 4S version there are so many on the market with miles in the 30’s or lower you can virtually pick you color if you want to pay $100k plus. They’re simply not selling at those prices. Maybe someday soon but not yet.

Take you pick of colors there are loads of them on the market with low miles sitting around at over $100k and they’ve been there for months.
