2000 BMW 540i Touring with 26k miles

When friends and associates come to me and ask for my advice on large SUVs, I can’t help think that if I’m going to have a utility oriented vehicle with a large engine, why not make it fun? This is exactly where the E39 BMW 540i Touring comes in. Sure, it doesn’t have all-wheel drive, but it does everything else a mid to large sized SUV can, and rather well. Under the hood is the familiar 4.4 liter V8, coupled to a 5-speed automatic gearbox. Add to that cornering abilities that no truck could match and you have a recipe for family fun. As BMW’s commercial for the E39 stated when it debuted “why float through life, when you can drive?”

Super clean low mile 2000 BMW 540iT Wagon with only 26k miles! Only driven an average of 1857 miles per year over the past 14 years. First time on Ebay.

This car has lived a fabulous life. It is a two owner car from San Francisco, California and Phoenix, Arizona. First owner was actually a BMW distributor in Asia. This car was one of many cars in his USA personal car collection in the Biltmore Estates area in Arizona.

It was sold new at Camelback BMW Arizona. She still wears her original Camelback dealer license plate frames. The auto executive spent most of his time living overseas thus the low miles. This car mostly sat awaiting transport duty when the owner was in town.

The 2nd owner history is from Hillsborough, California. The car was meticulously serviced and maintained during its ownership. Again, this was one of many cars in the household in Hillsborough and the car just sat in the garage. Mostly used for weekend golf trips or going out to dinners.

If you have been looking for a great example with all the right options this is it! This 540iT wagon is finished in Titanium Silver with grey leather. Factory 4.4L DOHC 32v V8 motor and 5 speed steptronic automatic transmission with adaptive transmission control.

It has the highly desirable Sport package with Sport suspension, shadow line trim, 17″ radial style wheels, performance tires, sport tires. multi function M sport steering wheel.

Other options are Rear Window Sun blinds, Park Distance Control, Premium sound with DSP. BMW MSRP of $59,880. The window sticker is in excellent condition with no rips or tears and included with the complete books and manuals.

The car has just received some recent maintenance and repairs to: replaced both valve cover gaskets, replaced nox sensors, replaced ignition, oil changed, 4 Bridgestone Potenza RE960 235/45/17 tires were replaced by Costco in 2011.

Paint and body are excellent condition. No dings except lower front spoiler has a small ding from a low driveway. Spoiler is not ripped or torn. All windows, door locks and electronics are working properly. No warning lights on. There is some slight pixel loss at instrument display. Odometer figures are still legible.

Carfax report is clean. An older oil change sticker shows car had 20,761 miles from Speedee Oil Changers in 2007. Recently smogged last month.

Clean title in hand. Email for more info.

Much like our Feature Listing 2003 BMW 540i M-Sport, it doesn’t bother me too much that this Touring is automatic, as that was the sole transmission choice for this model. Everything about this car is perfect for me. The low miles, shadowline trim and the gorgeous Style 32 wheels. Silver over gray leather isn’t the most engaging of colors for this particular car, but if you’re cruising on the motorway, it won’t grab the attention of the blues and twos, either. At no reserve, we’ll be watching this one very closely.

Last oil change was seven years ago?! Pass!

Ry, isn’t that BMW’s new service interval?

Seriously I don’t think they’re saying that was the last change. Just that there is a sticker that tells the mileage in 2007.

But that should be confirmed prior to purchase.
