It all started innocently enough, I was told there was a one owner 1976 Porsche 911s for sale in my area. I had seen this car around town and was always stunned by its originality and condition. As I have mentioned, ad nauseum, I have been looking for a third car with a little more room than my beloved 986 provides. The car was even better than I imagined, I thought about it for a few days and realized that what I needed was a daily that was fun enough to drive but also would carry my little family of three if needed.
I informed the owner that I would be able to buy her car, she was disappointed and shared that she was having some trouble selling the car. I offered to help and 24 hours later the ’76 one owner 911s was sold, to a lucky owner in Germany. About the same time I was able to find a low mileage e39 m5 for sale locally that I could not resist. What are the chances? The same week I find and later sell a car I would normally kill for I locate a car I have been passively searching for as long as I can remember. Life is funny that way. What this all means is that my 2000 Porsche Boxster is for sale.
From my ad -
2000 Porsche Boxster, 5 Speed, Ocean Blue Metallic over Savannah Beige interior, 83k+ miles. Clean title and Carfax. PW, PDL, heated seats, CD with Traffic Pro, Cruise, etc. I am the third owner of this well maintained 986, the car was formerly a CPO car at Sunset. The car is very original with a few modifications such as a Tequipment shift knob, GT3 console and ash tray delete, Evo Swift Shift kit, Das Schild trunk and hood liners, updated (2003) clear headlights and smoked tails, smoked running lights, front and rear spacers (7 & 14mm), new lug bolts, and new floor mats.
This Boxster has been very well maintained with oil changes (Mobile 1 0w/40) every 3k and needs nothing but to be enjoyed. Some of the bigger ticket items include a new glass window Robbins top, front and rear brakes, front and rear cross drilled rotors, newer tires, replaced AOS, and 30k and 60k services completed. The car looks fantastic with no dings or dents, the interior is very clean, and owned by a non-smoker. The exterior has been gone over with a clay bar and waxed every six months. All four wheels have been refinished and waxed regularly with Rejex. As a perfectionist I would say the only flaws on this Boxster are some signs of paint wear on the front bumper and hood and a little scuffing on the inner bolster of the driver’s seat. These issues are minor but worth noting in the spirit of full disclosure.
This is a car you can buy with confidence knowing it will need nothing other than scheduled maintenance, no surprises. It has been a pleasure owning it and I will surely miss it when it is gone. Asking $14,400, an extra set of wheels mounted on new snow tires available for an additional $750.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
It has been a wonderful car and I hope it goes to someone who appreciates it as much as I have. Like I said above, let me know if you have any questions.

Would love to hear the details on your newly purchased E39. A good friend had a less than positive experience picking one off of ebay, but I’m still intrigued, even more so with the steadily dropping prices.
Good luck with selling your Boxter. Looks like a great car!
Thanks Deven on both counts. Like I said, I have been looking for an E39 forever, wanted something that was super clean, great mechanical condition, wood trim (I can’t stand the fake metallic trim), black interior, and less than 50k miles.
As you can imagine given my criteria I was in for the long haul. Well, this exact car surfaced last week. 2000, silver with black leather and wood trim, 47k on the ticker, no dings or dents, clear bra, etc. Granted the car is not perfect, I negotiated having the wheels refinished and a 40k service in with the purchase. Throw in some new tires, a new key, and a few other odds and ends and it should be good to go.
I picked the car up last Friday and took it on a 13 hour round trip to Idaho over the weekend. It performed beyond my expectations, I could not be more pleased with my M5. Once I get her all squared away I will put together a post with more detail. Thanks again.

Good luck with the new one and selling the old onem(Looks very nice). I think I am getting the urge for a 964. Never driven a Porsche. I think Silver is a great colour for the E39 M5.
Nice looking car, you may be a little high on price. We just sold a 2002 Box S in blue with tan 6 speed manual and 82k miles for 14k.

Thanks Jim. I was a little optimistic on price. The car sold on Saturday, will be going to it’s new home in Seattle tomorrow. I am sure by the spring I will be ready for a soft top again. Perhaps a M roadster or another SLK…
