2003 BMW 530i

$_57 (1)

Not a week goes by it seems that we don’t feature an E39 BMW 5 series of some sort. Generally we like to hone in on the V8 engined fast Fives, but the bread and butter E39s in the US market were the ones equipped with the inline-6 under the hood. This 2003 530i represents the last year for the E39 and the sunset on this particular chapter in BMW design language. Equipped with the sports package and a 5-speed manual gearbox, it is sort of junior version of the M5 for those who may be scared off by the running costs and thirst of the Motorsports beast.

This is a really nice and rare 2003 530I sport M package, with a 5 speed manual transmission. The vehicle had only one owner and was meticulously maintained by at the dealer. There are a lot of maintanance records on the carfax report. Interior is like new with everything in working order. The exterior paint is all original and looks great. The car is mechanically sound. No issues of any kind. Suspension feels very tight, brakes work great, engine and transmissions feel very healthy. Tires are almost new matching Continentals DW.

One of the first things that caught my eye with this otherwise tidy 530i was the fact that the emblem on the hood had the enamel worn off. This is a really inexpensive fix and things like this always beg the question what other corners might have been cut. Still, for the mileage, this car looks rather tidy but as always, would benefit from a good looking over before purchase. It’s rather easy to get into an E39 525i or 530i for well under $10,000 these days. Considering the mileage, the asking price on this one may be a tad bit high, but not too far off the mark for what was one of the mid-sized luxury sedan favorites of the late 1990s.

the 530i is so great because it’s got the nimbleness of the 6-cyl with another 30-40 horsepower on top of the 525/28i. these with the sport package and 5-speed are lots of fun to whip around corners and even on the track!
