Pretty Good Looking e30 M3 For Sale for only $13k

I’ve always thought the e30 M3’s looked really sharp in black on black. This one has a little over 100k miles and some visible wear on the seats, but otherwise looks like a pretty good little car for $13k.

This auction is for the pictured 1988 BMW M3. It is Diamond black with black leather interior. It has only 116k original miles. No accident history and a clean carfax. The body is very straight with all vin tags and no accident history. A couple minor door dings and no rust. Everything works as it should. A/C blows cold and it drives strong. Door panels, headliner and dash are excellent. All gauges work. Tires and brakes are new with upgraded drilled rotors. Driver seat shows some wear as can be seen in the pics but the other seats are in good shape. Fog lights are cracked but i already have a set on order and will be included. Paint has nice shine but has some road chips /blemishes as can be expected. Overall Car is has relatively low mileage and is in good condition. This is a nice survivor that could easily be restored or just enjoyed as it is.Oil change and all maintenance has been completed. A compression test was recently done as pictured showing compression to be at 181 x 4

The owner even has a picture of him doing a compression test on the motor. Assuming the car needs a few things here and there and you had to drop two or three grand into it right away; could be a a really nice car in a pretty desirable color.

Two Very Low Mileage M3’s, $60,000 Each!

These two creampuff’s come courtesy of a BMW M3 Forum. One is an e30 M3 with 7k miles and the other is an e36 M3 Lightweight (LTW) with only 41 miles!

Not to play that overused ‘economy’ angle yet again, but these seem like high prices to me in today’s market. On the other hand the owners clearly know the rarity of their cars and are counting on educated and wealthy buyers. Who knows when we’ll see examples like these for sale again.

Two Irish Green, Early Porsches For Sale: Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Irish Green has to be one of the best early Porsche 911 or 912 colors, and in today’s post we have one of each. Both are very fetching in their own ways, but the most significant difference is the price. One features an asking of $78,500 and the other $15,000. Read on for the details…

First up is this beautiful 1966 Porsche 911 on the Samba. Billed as a ’survivor’, it even features the original paint. Early Porsche 911’s in original or restored condition command top dollar, and this example is no exception with it’s $78,500 asking. But if you’ve seen Robert Redford’s Irish Green 911 that he flogs in the movie Spy Game and thought to yourself Oh Hell Yes, this car should turn you on quite a bit.

This 1966 Porsche 911 is a true survivor. The car has been with one enthusiastic owner, a national PCA concourse judge from new until 2002. The current owner, a collector in the Midwest has kept the car in a climate controlled storage since and maintained it on a regular basis.

This car is fully documented from day one and a rare find indeed. The original irish-green paint is still in remarkably good condition and shows very well.

The engine and all mechanicals have been serviced by only the best technicians for early Porsches and this shows once the car is driven. It still feels like a new car with no rattles or unusual noises anywhere, even on rougher surfaces.

Those early 911 Porsches are very unique in the Porsche family and collectors appreciate their special features such as wooden interior trim, steering wheel and chromed rims.

This particular car has been featured in Jim Schragers book on early 911s and it has to be one of the most original and unmolested examples anywhere.

Our next car is a 1967 Porsche 912 for sale on Craigslist in Portland, Oregon. Of course the 912 is only a four cylinder and it’s motor is based on the outgoing Porsche 356 of the period. Nevertheless, this particular one features a performance built motor that just sings as it easily revs to redline, evidenced in the video below. The seller has documented the extensive work done to this car, but also notes that the paint is not perfect. From the pictures, it looks perfectly acceptable to me as a car that can be enjoyed year round! And for the record, it’s fairly well known that the car actually used in the Spy Game movie is in fact a 912 with 911 engine notes dubbed over. What more do you need to know that this is a super value?!

This classic sports car is ready to take you wherever you want to go: race track, rallies, or touring across the continent. Nearly all of the major mechanical systems have been replaced, upgraded or restored with care in the last two years. New performance engine has 5000 miles on it. Cosmetics such as interior carpets and upholstery are in decent condition, not perfect; my initial focus was to build a reliable and safe sports car for commuting. I would love to keep it, but am forced to sell as I’m moving.

I think most Porsche 912 owners would love to upgrade their old engines, but secretly pray they don’t ever have to face the costs. When it was time to rebuild this one, I decided to spare no expense in building the most reliable high-performance street engine possible. My goal was to upgrade where the originals have proven unreliable or where performance could be improved without any risks to longevity. This restoration/upgrade alone cost well more than $10k. Needless to say, I was planning on keeping the car for years, and am only selling now because I must.

As you can probably gather by now, I think the 912 is definitely the better value; especially at $15k! Of course a 912 is not a substitute for a 911. But it’s also not to be dismissed as anything less than a fantastic sports car. Add the fact that this one has an expensive rebuilt motor assembled with such focus and dedication, you can tell that this car is at least 85% of the experience of a 911 of the same era.

The 38k mile BMW e30 M3 on eBay is finally No Reserve!

I’ve referred to this super low miles, Henna Red e30 M3 that’s listed on eBay a couple times. But it never met reserve, reaching as high as $23,900. With a no reserve listing, do you think it will generate enough excitement to eclipse the previous high bid, or will the crap economy rear it’s head with a sub-20k closing? 1983 Alpina B9 #312 For Sale in Florida

Check out this gorgeous and original Alpina B9 For Sale on eBayMotors:

1 Previous owner, Original engine, head, exhaust, suspension, interior and almost rust free!

This is an extremely rare opportunity to own a piece of BMW Alpina automotive history. The Alpina B9 was not simply a car with tuner add ons but a vehicle remanufactured by Alpina. Alpina started with the basic BMW 528 model and installed a modified 3.5 M30 engine producing 245hp. Also added were Alpina tuned springs and struts, 16″ Alpina rims, free flow Alpina exhaust with headers, sport shell seats with Alpina logo fabric, front and rear spoilers, and finally a Alpina decale kit. The cars were then numbered and sold directly by alpina. This particular example is one of under 600 and is probably only one of a handful that has survived in the past 25 years. It not only surviived it has been well preserved in a garage for 2 decades. I was lucky enough to find it and realized what a opportunity it was especially considering how original and complete it was. It has the original engine and head (will add numbers later), but also the original suspension, interior, spoiler, and even the original Alpina exhaust. The header did not survive, however it was replaced with a very similar quality Hartge example. Amazingly, I was also lucky enough to purchase it from the original owner (who purchased it while in the military in the 80’s) and have retained a copy of the original 1983 title. As it is a Florida car it is almost rust free. It’s floors, rocker panels, suspension points are all very clean (will add pics later).

The $14.5k buy-it-now option seems like a pretty good deal. There are very few real Alpina’s in this country anyway, and this one still has almost all of it’s original details. While I’m not an experienced collector, I have to imagine that 5-10 years from now, this car will have appreciated considerably. Then again, with over 100k miles and an approachable entry price, maybe it would be better to enjoy immediately. Can you imagine the response at your next BMW club day when you roll up in this?!
