2012 Porsche 911 Turbo

Porsche is thankfully one of those car companies that still lets you customize your ride beyond what one normally finds in the dealer brochure…provided you come with the checkbook handy. For years, Porsche has offered a “paint to sample” option for buyers who are perhaps a bit bored with the colors in the back of the dealer brochure. This has led to a multitude of interesting liveries over the years, including the second to last 928GTS produced, in a questionable shade of Pearlglanz Metallic over purple interior trimmings. Thankfully, some of these special combinations are less offensive than others. Such is the case with this 2012 Porsche 911 Turbo painted in Gulf Blue with a subtle Espresso Brown leather interior.

This 2012 Porsche 997 Turbo is a cool piece of the modern Porsche era. The last of the 997’s rolled out of the factory in 2012 as one of the top picks for Porsche enthusiasts. This particular 997 Turbo is exceptionally rare, as it was ordered to sample in the iconic “Gulf Blue” exterior color with the natural “Espresso” interior. Traveling only 4,800 miles, this PDK Turbo has a factory extended warranty through 2017 and is simply an exceptional car with most conceivable options present. This is a one of a kind car, ready to be enjoyed for years to come.

It’s always intriguing to see throwback colors like this on modern day machinery, especially in conjunction with the Fuchs style wheels. I have yet to drive a 997 variant of any kind, but if I was going to spend 997 Turbo money on a 911, I’d probably revert to a clean air-cooled example of some kind, as many are doing these days (hence the market being driven up).
