2004 BMW M3 with 16,000 Miles

I think it’s safe to say that I don’t drive my car very much. We live in a city and walk most places, and even when I do drive it’s generally less than 15 miles away. Yet, despite my car sitting weeks at a time and the very short drives that I do take, I’ve managed to put about 3,500 miles a year onto the car since I’ve gotten it. To be honest, sometimes I can’t even figure out how I’ve even put that many miles on the car, but they sneak up on you. I really enjoy driving my Passat, too – so it’s not a case of “I hate driving this car” either. That’s why I find today’s M3 particularly puzzling – here’s a car I’d really, really love to drive and own, but it’s only accrued an average of 1,598 miles a year for ten years. How is that even possible?

So for your 4.3 miles a day, you get a nearly perfect Mystic Blue 2004 M3 with a host of Dinan upgrades and the perfect-match ZCP Competition Package wheels. To put that 4.3 miles in perspective, that’s nearly as much as I walk with my son and wife every day, but this M3 certainly looks better than our stroller does. I do like the Mystic Blue, but I’m not a fan of the black interior. However, the wheels and Dinan mods are welcome additions and you’d be hard pressed to find an E46 in better condition. Reserve is likely set well into the $30,000 range; pricey for an E46 but I really think that if you want to get a brand new example of one of the best packages produced by BMW, look no further. I’d guess in a few years we’ll regard this as a steal.

I’m with you about the colors. Seems odd to add the Dinan stuff and then not drive it. I would want to see some good maintenance paperwork over the ownership history to verify the miles.

I’m totally with you on that Carter. On some cars the miles will sneak up to you, and on others, time goes by so fast, that you don’t realize you never even drove a car.
I recently realized I only drove my 964 RSA, a total of 250 miles, in 5 years.
