Afternoon Accessories: Refresh your keyfob

509

Want a simple way to refresh your Volkswagen key fob? As the owner of a few Volkswagens over the past few years, their metal stickers tend to wear off and delaminate. Short of purchasing a few one, you can simply replace the worn sticker that makes it look so dated. Ebay has any number of replacement stickers and colors available, but a favorite of mine has to be this Abt sticker. Abt has been in the tuning game as long as any of the other VW/Audi tuners, but their understated style has always been what attracted me.

Why does VW overbuild the body (forged door hinges, full galvanization, wax dipped, special welding, thick steel), then cheap out on plastic bits that matter (fob, sensors, water pump, dipstick!, wiring, window regulators)?
