Amaranth Violet 1995 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet

A couple weeks ago I wrote a sort of ode to purple as an exterior color in regard to an Aubergine 911T. Here we have another purple 911 and while Amaranth Violet doesn’t quite possess the same elegance and beauty as Aubergine it is probably an even more rare choice among the models of any marque. Like Aubergine, this color doesn’t hide its purple, in fact it’s even more upfront about it and wouldn’t be mistaken for any other color. For some that in itself might be an issue, but it kind of works on the 993 in a way that I think it would not on earlier 911s. Regardless, owners of these cars are likely to very rarely, if ever, come across another one. We certainly can’t decry its uniqueness. Here we have an Amaranth Violet 1995 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet, located in Texas, with 81,088 miles on it.

This 993 isn’t wholly original as it has different seats, wheels, and suspension from new. There’s no word on the availability of the original items so we probably can assume they are gone. Given the mileage this may not be an issue since collectors might search elsewhere to begin with and for those looking for a driver the modifications aren’t problematic. I’m not sure I’d go with yellow brake calipers on a purple car, but that’s not too difficult a fix. Otherwise, this 911 presents pretty well for its age and should make for a nice option. The pricing is in line with what we typically see for a 993, especially one in a rare color. Amaranth isn’t as desirable as some of the other rare 993 colors, but for fans of it that just means they won’t pay the significant premiums we see associated with something like Riviera Blue. For top-down fun this 911 will certainly turn some heads.
