Are Those Old School Momo Wheels on this 2.3-16 on eBay?

November 18, 2008 by Dan

Typically I prefer to post discovered examples for sale that are in better condition and/or lower miles. But as I scrolled through the pics, the wheels on this car jumped out at me. They look like either original Momo 5 star or perhaps even Fittipaldi rims. Take a look at this 1987 Mercedes 190 2.3-16 on eBayMotors:

quote from seller’s eBayMotors listing:

Please take a good look at the pictures, and then make a bid on this very special and rare car that is fun to drive and a pleasure to own. The amazing leather interior, front and rear bucket seats, 5 speed (dog leg) racing gearbox, stunning factory original ground effects kit. These cars don’t come up for sale very often so don’t miss this one.

As a young man in high school many moons ago, these were the rims to get. Can you help identify them?

Yes they are Momo’s. I will get you better pics and more info because I just bought the car off ebay. Wanted to say I love your site. Because of the rarity of the MB 2.3 16v in America I thought it was a car with more charachter than a plane jane BMW 2002 (no offense to BMW 2002 owners).

Thanks for your comment! I always love hearing about new owners that buy as a result of finds on my site! I’d really appreciate the update and new pics, and would like to make a post specifically about your buy.

    Congratulations!
