This completely custom M6 has thousands of dollars in high end parts. Hamann body kit, Hamann exhaust, 22″ rims, subwoofers. The previous owner was a professional basketball player.
The black and white color scheme is unique, but doesn’t really appeal to my senses, but I’m not a huge fan of the 6 series looks stock. The V10 engine with SMG is hard not to love though.
With $40k in upgrades on top of the price of the car it will be interesting to see where this ends up. It is up for sale with no reserve.
The SUV theme week added a bit of interesting flavor to the blog. I think we’ll continue to keep an eye out for the occasional German born beast to compliment the svelte roadsters we post. As always if there is a theme you would like to see us try shoot us an e-mail, email@example.com.
While we didn’t find any of the following for sale, I thought we just couldn’t leave an ultimate German SUV discussion without posting these.
If you are a Benz fan and want the highest form of expression of the G55 you actually have a pair of options.
You could go with the killer 600 horsepower Hamann Typhoon with 6 sidepipe exhaust:
or the even more crazy 700 horsepower, 800+ lb ft torque Brabus G V12 S Biturbo. Can you imagine a heavy truck with shape and weight of a small house that can hit 60 MPH in 4.3 seconds? The price tag is near $400,000.
Not to leave you BMW folks out, here is one of my favorite clips of Hans Joachim Stuck motoring an X5 LeMans arround a track. The car features the same V12 engine from the BMW LMR racer. Just listen to the engine howl on that thing. 700+ horsepower and it was faster around Nurburgring, 7:49, then a Gallardo a Ferrari 360 and even the M3 CSL. Not exactly what the typical American SUV buyer has in mind.
Here is a nicely modified BMW. $25k in upgrades to this E90 series 3. 2006 was the last year before the switch over to the turbo 335i. You have all the standard 330i amenities plus some great Hamann add-ons. The body kit, big rims, and Williams F1 / BMW Motorsport colors paint scheme make this a one of a kind. Little touches like blue tint to match blue side marker bulbs add to the look. A quad pipe exhaust enhances the backend.
The car is nice, not too over the top. I think it may look better without the uber expensive 3 piece wheels in silver and instead some nice 5 spokes in matched white. The eyelids and body color grille are a good touch, the hood pins maybe not necessary. Hamann badges abound, front back, center caps, steering wheel, engine cover. The black line taillights a nice mod for cars going for an all black or a black and white scheme, I’m not sure they work with the M pin-striping colors. The interior has an added driver side A-pillar dual gauge pod for vacuum and volts. The all black M badges also don’t make sense to me with when you have the M colors on your car.
Just being nit-picky, the car looks pretty good. Will be interesting to see where the bidding ends up.
