Convertible Week: 1995 Mercedes-Benz E320 Cabriolet

The Mercedes-Benz W124 brought the four-place cabriolet back to the Mercedes-Benz lineup after a 20 year hiatus. This 1995 E320 cabriolet for sale in Mississippi marks the last year for this model, which would be replaced a couple years later by the CLK cabriolet. For those planning on beach time this summer, these stout open roofed Benzes are a great way to enjoy al fresco motoring with three of your friends.

This is not your average 1995 E320 Cab! This is an above average Collectors car that will only appreciate in value over time! We found this car from our owners friend and neighbor! On a 10 scale its a solid 8.7! Very nice car, clean and serviced! Hard to find a car of this caliber for this price! These cars were hand built in 95 and are very rare in the market! It MSRP’d for over $79,000 in ’95.

These open roofed E classes have commanded strong values over the years, and this particular example represents a shot at getting one with reasonable miles for a decent price. It’s easy to find E320 cabriolets with this kind of mileage for well over $20,000. I’d say with a tiny bit of negotiation, someone will be getting a good deal here.

1994 Mercedes-Benz E320 Coupe

Maybe I’m getting old, but I yearn quite often for the Mercedes-Benzes from the 1980s and 1990s. Having grown up in a family that had a 190E 2.6 and a 400E, both of 1992 vintage, I miss the tank-like quality of these cars. These cars always struck me as interesting since they weren’t a boring drive, but didn’t have much in the way of sporting intentions. After driving my parent’s 2000 C280 on a trip home this weekend, the merits of these older Mercs are clear. Thirteen years and 105,000 miles never felt so good.

One of my favorite and most overlooked Benzes from the 1990s is the W124 coupe. Sold in small numbers stateside, they aren’t very flashy for a two-door, but have a simple elegance about them which exudes good taste. This E320 coupe for sale in Illinois is a low mileage survivor that personifies personal luxury.

1994 Mercedes-Benz E320 Coupe on AutoTrader

Rare 1994 Mercedes E320 Coupe, all options, automatic climate control, seat belt assist front seats, power antenna, premium sound, sunroof, Mercedes factory phone. It is hard to find E320 Coupes. Many Convertibles are listed but a coupe is very rarely up for sale. The engine and trasmission run great and shift seamlessly. The interior and all wood is in excellent condition inside this vehicle. Even the trunk mat is clean with no stains, A/C ice cold, always garaged, looks & drives great. Must see, interior like new, title in hand, well maintained.

As a general rule of thumb, the convertibles and 500E/E500 über sedans are the most highly valued W124s. The coupes can bring a little bit more than the estates, and the estates a bit more than the sedans. Since there were so few sold here, the coupes are fairly hard to come across. Nevertheless, $10,000 to $12,000 about the high mark for these cars, barring an exceptional car that might have around 20,000 to 30,000 miles. The 1995 E320 Estate we featured last week sold for $9,600, so I’d say were somewhere up around the $10,000 mark or so as a realistic value for this E320.

1995 Mercedes-Benz E320 Estate

Wagon Week may be over here at GCFSB, but for me, I’ve always got five-doors on my mind. One of my favorite five-doors happens to be the W124 E class. While maybe not as utilitarian as its predecessor, the W123 estate, the W124 had the same rock solid build quality wrapped in slightly more modern sheet metal. This E320 estate for sale in San Francisco represents the final year for the W124. While it’s fairly common to find a few low mileage cabriolets and even coupes and sedans, many of the five-door E320s were used as intended – as a workhorse. Finding a mint one like this is a real treat.

Year: 1995
Model: E320 Estate
Engine: 3.2 liter inline six
Transmission: 4-speed automatic
Mileage: 87,851 miles
Price: Auction – No reserve

Selling for no reserve…

Widely popular and very few in supply with low mileage. The 124 E class wagon is one of the best built Mercedes Benz wagons ever made. Sold new on November 14, 1994 San Francisco European Motors Mercedes Benz. Serviced at the dealer with maintenance booklet routinely stamped. This car has been well maintained through out its history. Garaged and in excellent condition overall. This car has never left the Bay Area.

Recently last month, I have repaired many of the major items that are common replacement issues on E class wagons:

*New head gasket
*New main wire harness
*New radiator
*New water pump
*New thermostat
*New coolant tank
*New rear tail gate shocks
*Fluids serviced

All of the major repairs have been performed to the highest standard by a Mercedes Independent shop. Receipts and records will be included with the sale. Car runs excellent and you can drive it home. AC blows cold but center vents not blowing cold air but cold air blows thru side vents fine. Outside temp reading not working. Car has good tread. Tires are Michelin. Brakes are good. Passes smog no problem. All of the electronics are working fine. Windows, door locks, speedo, odometer etc. Transmission shifts smooth and crisp. Email for more info. Clean title in hand.

With the all important wiring harness issue taken care of, along with a few other major repairs, this E320 looks like a pretty solid bet for someone seeking one of these modern classics. With no reserve, I’d suspect this E320 estate might pull somewhere between $6,500 and $8,500, as the W124 estates aren’t quite reaching W123 territory just yet.
