1983 Volkswagen Scirocco Wolfsburg GT With Only 4700 Miles!!
I am a long time Scirocco nut. I had a ratty 77 that I beat up thoroughly in high school (class of 92). It took tons of abuse, but the willing little 4 cylinder and light weigh was a lot of fun for a kid my age to be driving back then. But my car was a heap compared to the MKII a friend’s older brother owned. It was black with black striped interior. And it was lowered on Momo rims, low profile tires (when 50 series was considered low profile!), an Alpine CD player and huge subwoofer in the back. It was one of the nicest modified cars at our school without a doubt. I even remember my Dad, who frowned on modified cars typically, remark, “That is a beautiful car. A high school kid owns it?!”
Seeing how nicely preserved this car is reminds me of that MKII from high school. The black on black is of course very familiar (though his seats were no where near as awesome as these leather ones!), but also because you just don’t see well preserved Scirocco’s anymore. Anywhere! And with only 4700 miles, this one takes the term survivor to extremes under the circumstances. These were all passed through the hands of high school kids, several times over, and each one wanted to modify it — ultimately killing most of them.

Original 1983 1/2 Wolfsburg Edition Scirocco with 4700 original miles. Quite possibly the finest example anywhere!
The car was purchased new in July of 1983, driven very little, and then stored for the majority of the past 26 1/2 years. The mechanic for the owner took care of and stored the car for the majority of this time up until about one year ago. The first owner had the euro headlights installed at the dealer. At some point in 1985 the GTI snowflake rims with their original set of Pirelli P6′s were put on. It also appears as if the original factory OE radio was replaced with an OE BMW factory radio out of an 83 320i. I am including an original used Heidelburg radio with the car. The orig factory 13″ rims are available with the car along with the original window sticker, factory manuals and all the OE literature on the BMW radio along with its security code & the factory OE headlights.

The car is a literal “all” orig in every way, time warp. Never hit or damaged, never repainted anywhere. The only flaw is on the right side of the hood near the windshield where something hit it and left about a one inch crack in the paint. The leather interior, headliner, and carpet are in incredible condition and still smell like a new car. No cracks or fading whatsover. The dash, door panels, headliner, every inch of rubber on the door seals are impeccable in every way.
The last Scirocco I saw in person that was this nice was Josh’s 84 that we posted here last year. That was a really fine example. This is ridiculous. And I know not everyone reading this is going to believe it, but there are 19 bids on this car totaling $8600 — and the reserve isn’t met with 2 days remaining! Clearly there are some collectors out there who remember the car as fondly as I do; not to mention an owner who isn’t letting this one go easy!

1988 BMW e28 M5 For Sale with only 12k miles!!

Nothing difficult to repair. This car starts perfect…….runs perfect ……….looks perfect…..It never sat out in the sun for any ammount of time. New, it sold for $8799.00 it should have held it’s retail price. .LOL IT NEEDS NOTHING!!!! But someone to drive it, it handles like a slot car. I owned a similair one 18 years ago, they are a blast to drive and carve the curves like a true sports car.
There is quite a spirited discussion in the Autoblog comments and also a 4+ page thread on VWVortex about this car and what it’s worth. I can see both side of the argument. Where do you think it will end up?

Low Miles 1988 BMW e30 M3 For Sale
I spotted this one yesterday on eBay. It’s an 88 with ~70k miles and it looks very clean and original. When I first saw it, the current bid was 11k reserve not met. Today it’s over $22k with 4 days remaining!

Yes, this is a 1985 model and that means it was produced for the European market and imported here. In the case of the Cosworth 190E, this means that this car has higher horsepower (185hp vs 167hp), torque and compression ratio.
This is a really nice example of a very desirable and collectible car. This is not a show car, but it certainly is in much better than average condition and has a relatively low 75,000 miles on it. It is probably too nice to take racing — even though it is a race car — but could make a great base for a project street car. Or do like me and just drive it! I have driven a lot of Mercedes in my life and this is the only one that really feels like a sports car. It’s nimble handling, high revving Cosworth engine and great exhaust note make this car a blast to drive. Please come buy it before I get into trouble!

I like the opening bid of $8000 and the honesty of this listing. While not quite as nice as this example posted a while back, the combination of European specification, recent respray, and very good miles, make me think this is a great example for an enthusiast. 2 Unique Mercedes 77 450SEL Estate, 91 Koenig 300CE
1977 Mercedes 450SEL Crayford Estate Wagon on eBay
With a clientele that included Sophia Loren, Crayford conversions on 1970s Mercedes are an exclusive beast. These costly vehicles came warrantied by Mercedes and were the way customers who wanted an estate wagon for their fancy sedan could have the best of both worlds. This particular car interestingly shows the ugly U.S. market safety bumpers, but has avoided the recognizable, though inferior U.S. market quad circle sealed beam headlights in favor of Euro spec H4 beams. The seller, presumably using the register of Crayford Mercedes found here: http://www.crayford-benz.org, claims this to be one of only two or three in existence.

I may be mistaken, but I believe that this is not the only Koenig Special Benz once owned by baseball legend Ken Griffey Jr. in existence. Koenig epitomized the Miami Vice over the top bad ass look when it came to mid 80s Mercedes. This later 1991, has the same flavor with the in your face widebody kit, but I think the look is actually better pulled off by slightly larger W126 bodied Benz coupes like the 560SEC. Occasionally you will see the widebody kits in metal, but more often they are fiberglass and after nearly 20 years it may show some spiderweb cracking up close. It is hard to say what the premium here is for the owner provenance, but it safe to say this asking price is a significant discount from new. A new owner of this Koenig Special vehicle will need to remember that, though most mechanical parts won’t be any harder to find than standard 3 liter Mercedes fare, replacing the massive 315 size tires on the rears will be a cost. Fortunately with a 6 cylinder engine, instead of the torque of a 5 or 5.6 liter from a 126 bodied car, burnouts should be easier to avoid. The big V8 Koenig Specials sometimes came with even more outrageous 345 meats on the rear.

944 Turbo Low Mileage Double Post! 2 1986 Porsche 951 For Sale Right Now!
After attending the Rose Cup races at PIR this past weekend, I had a hankering for a Porsche 944 Turbo. Big Time! As we walked by this pair, we were all reminded what a striking car the 951 is when properly taken care of.
Naturally I was motivated to check in on the Porsche 951 market to see how values were holding up.
First up is this 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo in Wisconsin:

Interior is original and like new!!, perfect dash (rare), carpet is like new throughout the car and the seats are exceptional, I’ve never seen one like this before.
Exterior is excellent, original paint still has a great red shine and only the normal very minor rock nicks. No accidents or bodywork, amazingly clean, zero door dings, looks more like 5 years old, does NOT need paint. Glass is excellent with no cracks. Original rims are very good with just minor nicks and new rubber. All electronics work (yes, even the clock) Sunroof works flawlessly as well. The car is stored in my heated garage and covered. Only taken out on sunny summer days – no rust of course!

I bought this car a little over a year ago and I’ve put 1000 miles on it. It is in excellent condition. The paint looks fantastic, with only a few nicks here and there from normal driving, none of which are noticeable from 10 feet (maybe less even). The clutch job has not been done, but shows no signs of needing replacement either, probably due to the babied nature of the car. (Porsche recommends the clutch be replaced at 36K miles, but that service has not been done and so far doesn’t need to be done) I do recommend replacing the rear brake calipers as they are showing slight signs of rust from the previous owner. Personally, I have never driven this car in the rain and refuse to. (Sunny days only!) The interior is equally near perfect and has not been smoked in, eaten in, nor have any drinks been allowed inside. There was a dash repair done by a previous owner but it is minor and almost unnoticeable. The leather on the shifter and steering wheel show SLIGHT signs of use, but nothing more than one would expect from 39,000 miles of use. You can replace them if you want, but it doesn’t take away from the interior beauty of the car in my opinion. This is practically a show car. The car comes equipped with Fikse lightweight racing wheels and Continental street/track tires (plenty of life left). A Bursche exhaust makes it purr really nice and boosts performance when combined with the installed PA chip. I have not dynoed the car, but guess that it produces in the neighborhood of 250hp. (More than enough to get you a ticket or two) I have and will include in the auction, all of the original equipment for the car, including the original wheels and tires, exhaust, and chips. I will also include an unused dash mat, a car cover, the original manual, and a certificate of authenticity from Porsche.
