Before Audi started RS-ifying every model it could, they had a tacit policy of only letting one model of RS out at a time, and rarely at that: first the venerable RS2 in 1994-1995, then the sexy RS4 in 2000-2001, then breaking the chain of Avants and Eurocentrism with the understated monster RS6 finally gracing our shores from 2002 to 2004. This was no quickened divorcee’s TT or beefed-up college student’s A3. While I am glad Audi is making those cars (it’s better than not), the RS6 comes from a purer time when hyper-powered civilian cars were the exception and not the rule and it, along with the E39 M5 and E55, terrified unsuspecting civilians. When I head back to the island I grew up on, I still take the long way home to see if the RS6 is parked outside that one house.
The ad is mainly dealer exclamation points and stats any good German car fan should know by heart, but the beauty is in the numbers. 450hp, 4.6 seconds 0-60, 56k miles, Buy-It-Now at $27.9k. 56k miles is pleasantly low for an 8 year-old driver’s car, and this would be one hell of a ride if you can snag it around $25k. It’s in the perfect hue of Daytona Gray Pearl, and while the white leather is slightly garish, I’d take it.
Just truly one of my favorite sedans ever made, and while the typical Audi maintenance will probably catch up with you, it’s still dangerously close to “affordable” in my book. I want it.
You know I can’t help myself when these come along! Check out this

The market seems to have softened a bit, so I’ll be curious to see where this auction ends up. With the low miles, documented history, and a great color combo, someone will end up with a rare find that looks like it has been well cared for and unmolested.
First up is an eBay listing for a . This car is advertised as 1 of 5 imported that year and a very low 12k miles! I’m a little late getting to this one, so bid soon 😉 ($39k reserve not met currently)

I’m personally digging the 78, though I’d probably go with the period correct Ruf rims of the day.…
Here is one of the more affordable stateside, early Alpina’s we’ve featured. A BMW e21 platform Alpina B6! This one has a 3.5L big six swapped in, but comes with the matching numbers Alpina engine as well.
Alpina B6, all the right sounds – 3.5big six, close ratio 5 speed, 3.91 limited slip gear. Not fast but quick! Numbers matching Alpina motor comes with the car. Daily driver but has not seen rain in at least 10 years. 3 small spotrust spots (very small!). Alpina vin 6549828 Alpina B6 #89. Rare and fun!
According to the entry on the Unofficial Alpina Pages, the B6 had a massaged 2.8L originally that produced the same horsepower as the motor that now sits in this car. While it’s probably a touch heavier, it’s a period correct alternative that makes sense, and the added torque probably more than makes up for the weight.
Seems like a cool and easily attainable entry into genuine Alpina ownership!
Supposing this turns out to be an actual 1984 BMW Alpina 2.8 B6 for sale, $3500 is a pretty attractive price for a car that could use a cash infusion and be more rare than an e30 M3. Check out this Alpina B6 For Sale on Craigslist:

Now I’m sure “Big Ron” is a reputable guy and all, but I don’t expect this car to be a real B6 considering it’s condition and thorough listing on Craigslist. But if it is a Euro car, and it looks like it could be, and it has Alpina pieces, it’s probably worth that much in parts anyway. Could actually be a really cool basis for a project car. And heaven forbid it’s a real Alpina… It’s probably the cheapest Alpina for sale in the country.
Up for sale low mile E30 M3, Diamantschwarz-metallic, cardinal red interior, Car is in unbelievable condition for age and mileage. It is bone stock except for two things, it has 16X8 BBS wheels and BORLA stainless muffler. Its defiantly collectors item, it have bean garaged all his life, newer tracked, two owner car first owner was 75 years old second 60 years old.. Car did got professionally detailed, it cleaned up awesome, interior looks like new, It has had some body work ( hood and right front fender and front bumper have bean sprayed) Who ever did job was a good painter it matches perfectly and you need to be professional to see that, None of panels have bean replaced all the vin tags are original and present. Headlight bezels are original to. I think it got sprayed due to rock chips. It has new tires, intake blocks. Full tune up was done 5K miles ago and I did change all the fluids. Car Drives quiet, smooth and tight, it needs nothing, it has clear CARFAX
What a fantastic combo, and the aftermarket BBS rims are a great addition. With the economy in the tank, the next couple years should be very favorable for the e30 M3 enthusiast. I’m hoping this car will end auction under $20k as a sign of what to expect in the coming year.
Update – Now re-listed with starting bid of $21k. Links updated.
Isn’t that what the Barret-Jackson folks would call it, a resto-mod? A very well done restoration with a custom touch to make this one a one of a kind, while not straying far from the original BMW 2002 formula.

Quit after 1999, to difficult to enjoy driving and show, would rather drive. To see additional pictures go to; http://picasaweb.google.com/jjt.public.gallery/2002#
The beautiful paint choice with ‘shadow line’ trim treatment, spotless interior, period correct looking HRE wheels, and nicely warmed over Korman built motor make this car a standout. But with a $25k price tag, it stands amongst the most expensive company in used BMW 2002’s like this Turbo on BringATrailer. Like most cars that I post like this, I often wonder how the owner can part with it considering the effort and money invested.…
You are bidding on a RARE and UNIQUE 944 Turbo (aka 951). I have owned a number of 951’s over the years, but this one is by far the most unique. This CarFax certified 951 has low mileage (63,239), comes in the rare color combination of Graphite Metallic over Light Grey and has a binder of receipts. If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind 951 with pedigree, read on!!!
This 951 has only had 2 owners. The first owner was a physician who purchased the car in Europe and brought it to the United States. The VIN is WP0ZZZ95ZGN101375. This car is 1 of only 2,760 944 Turbos produced for the rest of the world (ROW) in 1986!!! By comparison, there were about 3 times as many US spec 944 Turbos produced in 1986. The European versions had the highly desirable streamlined rear bumper and front fenders with marker lights in them (see photos). The most interesting feature on this car is the instrument cluster. The warning lights are written in German!!!
This car comes with the original European Delivery documents which consist of a Porsche Touring Pass and another book which appears to be a travel guide and is written entirely in German. I have included a photo of both of these items in their original plastic case. They are in pristine condition. The car also comes with the original First Aid kit (never used) which is also written in German.
This car was specially ordered from the factory with a single sport seat which is confirmed by a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.
This car is not going to be everyone’s cup of tea, but for those who grew up in the Miami Vice era reading VW & Porsche will know what makes this car a standout. This auction recently ended with no sale at $20k, and a buy-it-now of $48k.
This great Turbo sets itself apart from all of the others due to it’s Strosek body kit, white gauge faces and Racing Dynamics wheels. A very striking look indeed!!
This car isn’t perfect, but this combination of original Strosek and Racing Dynamics aftermarket pieces are difficult to source today. $50k seems pretty high for a car with 60k miles, pitted bodywork, and stained interior. But this car could really serve as a childhood fantasy car project to rebuild or enjoy.
The color of this Porsche is a Titamium Metallic with black leather interior. The photos show it to have a bronze tint to it, but it doesn’t. As you can see it is in Excellent condition. I just had all the services done to it and completely gone through. Everything works. The AC blows hard and cold. The paint Excellent with just a few stone chips in the front. No accidents not even a door ding. I have the books and keys. Please give me a call if you have any questions.
I love the color combo of dark gray on black leather. And that leather looks brand new, even on the steering wheel. But if it didn’t sell for $17k, how much more is it worth? Leave a comment with your opinion.
