Ultra Rare 964 Cup for Sale

Over on Pelican a 1992 Porsche 964 Factory Cup car has surfaced.  These cars are uber rare, only 260 were produced.  This car was driven by Harald Grohs and Eric van der Velde in the European Carrera Cup Series.  That is not to be confused with the other van der Velde.  This car has since been imported and driven in the PCA Club Race series in Class GTC-1.  It is a rare opportunity when a factory Porsche race car becomes available, if you are looking to dominate your next PCA track day then this is the car for you.

From the seller’s ad:

“Good examples like this are very rare and increasingly more difficult to find. They are a wonderfully quick and safe track or race car and because of their pure Factory lineage and low production numbers,(260TOTAL PRODUCTION) will always maintain their high intrinsic value, especially for any amateur or vintage race series. Never having sustained any structural damage the car was freshly painted in 2005 The engine is fresh with only 3 sprint races of use since it had a complete rebuild (new 964 Cup pistons and cylinders, new 964 Cup heads along with a new wiring harness, sensors and throttle body) The recently rebuilt transmission has only been exposed to one race. The suspension is also all new and uses all original Factory Cup Car parts. This wonderful example is offered with a very extensive list of spares. a NAV based data system, front and rear video cameras ,transponder and all rebuild and repair records.Current PCA logbook .”

Neat car, not sure on the price as you don’t often see these cars available on the open market.  The demand for a factory cup car has to be on the narrow side as this would make an awful grocery getter.
