1959 Mercedes-Benz 300d Cabriolet

The Type 300 was the top of the range for Mercedes-Benz in the 1950s, a symbol of what this company was capable of but few were able to afford in the years immediately after World War II. One of the most impressive models was the four-door cabriolet version, known to some as the “Adenauer.” This was due to the fact that it was the ride of choice for the first Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Konrad Adenauer. Towards the end of the production run, the 300d was revealed, sporting a detuned version of the fuel-injected inline-6 found in the 300SL sports car. This was a car for the rich and famous, a car that was on par with what Rolls Royce had to offer in its day. It would eventually be succeeded by the 600 Grosser Mercedes, which would carry the torch of the über Benz into the 1980s. This 300d is one of 65 ever produced and is currently on offer in Ohio.

The E28 M5 is seemingly following in the E30 M3’s footsteps as the next hot commodity in the semi-vintage BMW game. If you want a lot of the M5 look at a discount, a 535i such as this is the next best thing. We featured this car back in November of last year and it is back up for sale at no reserve with a few hundred miles more on the clock.

2012 BMW 328i xDrive Touring 6-speed manual

If there’s one type of car that has a rabid following amongst enthusiasts it is wagons with a manual gearbox. The number of new cars available in this form is few. Good used examples are fast disappearing, with the folks who own and love them hanging on to them like the coin of the realm. The 2007 BMW 328xi Touring we featured early this month sold in short order to another enthusiast who contacted us directly seeking more information. Hopefully, we’ll soon have a recap of that story. In the meantime, if you missed the 2007 E91 Touring, here’s one of the last E91 Tourings for sale in Massachusetts sent to us by our reader Adam, painted in a lesser seen shade of Vermilion Red.

1984 Porsche 911 Carrera

As the 911 turned 20 years old in the mid-1980s, Porsche would unleash what many consider to be the last true link to the original 911 before the smoother styling of the 964 and 993 took hold: the 3.2 Carrera. This model would carry through until the dawn of the 1990s through a number of iterations. But for me, there’s just nothing better than the classic Carrera coupe. This first year Grand Prix White example for sale in California is a well-documented car, with a history intertwined with the well-known dealership, Vasek Polack Porsche.
