Yellow is a color more akin to some Italian exotics, but occasionally you’ll come across some of Stuttgart’s finest in this eye-popping hue. Having just embarked on a summer road trip, my thoughts wandered while driving towards fuel economy. My MINI Cooper S certainly does well enough, but sometimes you want something a bit more suited for cruising. Which is where this Mercedes-Benz 300TD comes in. It’s certainly not the ugliest car ever produced, but it just has an awkward presence that puts its grand touring predecessor, the 928, in a good light.
