Over the last year I’ve really come to appreciate the high-top Vanagon. With a very different approach and look from the Westy, it’s taking the VanLife game just a little further. This early 1980 model has covered less than 50k miles with its air-cooled 2.0-liter. There’s no explanation as to why it has only covered an average of 1300 miles a year, but it looks the part. The two-tone yellow is going to make you the quintessential ray of sunshine that comes when people see awesome Vanagons on the road. Inside, the redone interior is pretty amazing with a very early-80s brown and beige color scheme and as high quality of work as I’ve seen in any Vanagon. With reserve-on bidding starting at $7k, it’s nice enough to go much higher than that.

1980 VW Vanagon Camper. Air cooled 2.0 liter manual 4-Speed stick shift. Absolutely awesome to drive!
Are you looking for the ultimate adventure vehicle? Well, you’ve just found it. This Adventurewagon has accompanied me on numerous adventures with the convenience of trailhead camping in a comfortable bed and free of hotel costs or pricey campsites.
4 people (three adults or two adults and two littles) can comfortably sleep in the van with two up top and two below. Wake up to coffee and eggs cooked on the one burner butane stove and dine at the included fold out table. There is a little pump sink for washing dishes and filling up your water bottles.
The van is rust free, and the engine runs flawlessly. Passed emissions tests. Tires with less than 5,000 on them. Comes with a NW forest pass!
I’m going to hate to see this van go, but I’m saving up for an international trip I hope to take this summer.

There are no bids as I write this; perhaps the bold color schemes are giving people pause, or the high-top is just very different from the superstar Westfalia. With this few miles, I’d jump in at least $10k to put some more adventure miles on this Adventurewagen!
