So close, and yet so far…
Just last month I took a look at a Sprint Blue RS4 sedan. The RS4 really is the perfect balance of a great motor, a great-looking package, good handling, and just enough tech – the sweet spot in used German sedans. Of course, they also offered it as a cabriolet here and an Avant abroad; though the fast five-door was never imported to the US. However, our friends in the great white north have more lax laws on importation; consequently, this 15-year-old example is now for sale up in Quebec. And boy, does it look great!

Stunning European spec B7 RS4 wagon in show condition with famous F1 package! This car is fully equipped including the F1 pack and the carbon pack with the sports steering wheel and also the sports seats! Interior and exterior are in perfect condition, no accidents, no washers, no scratches, only very small bumper chips but this is very minor! This car has a very low mileage, 105,000 km (65,000 miles), very well maintained, nothing to do the car is ready to hit the road! It received no modifications except for a Miltek Cat Back exhaust system.
It’s a European car from Germany, it’s completely legal to drive in all of Canada but it’s more complicated in the United States because it’s not yet 25 years old… So the American buyer must know and it is your responsibility! It came with a proper Quebec Canada street title! We can help you with shipping, but for US buyer, you need to check yourself what to do to import to US!
This one has the superb upgraded front Recaro seats; Europeans also had the option of carbon-ceramic brakes, though I can’t tell if this one has them. Condition appears to be very good overall, and it’s a very desirable package and a nice color combination. Pricing? In the US, you’d have to spend a fortune to get this one legalized, though it is possible if you’re determined enough. Biding here has already passed $20,000, but considering that the B5 RS4 Avants can sell for up to four times that amount it seems like we’ve got a ways to go. That said, similar cars have sold for less – though in RHD layout. The final price is likely a moot point since we’re still a decade away from being able to more easily obtain this uberAvants in the US – but boy is it neat to see so close by!
