Motorsports Monday: 1990 BMW 325i

I feel sometimes that the BMW E30 3 series is kind of like the Mazda Miata of the classic German car world. It’s the answer to almost every automotive question. Whether you want a modern classic to cruise in, a track day warrior or a practical commuter vehicle, there’s an E30 for everyone. This particular one came to our attention via our friends at Classic Car Club Manhattan. One of their clients, Mike, has it up for sale. This is one sleeper of a 325i sedan, with an S50 3.2 liter engine under the hood. Want a dual purpose street/track day car? This would be an excellent solution.

1995 Porsche 911 Carrera

In case you missed the 1995 Porsche 911 Carrera with six figure mileage last week, here’s your shot at another 1995 911 Carrera, in a more colorful hue with less miles. This 993 for sale in Baltimore features a special order Iris Blue, which just pops, accentuating its soft curves nicely. The days of the affordable air-cooled 911 may be coming to a close fairly quickly, but that doesn’t change the fact that these cars are some of the most practical classic sports cars out there.

Sonderklasse Pair: 1990 Mercedes-Benz 560SEC vs. 1994 Mercedes-Benz S500

Mercedes-Benz just released a new CL coupe and I must say, as compared to many of the new designs coming out of Stuttgart, this was one of my favorite ones as of late. From the rear angle, this is a decent looking big coupe. The AMG version is a bit fussy for my tastes, but the new S-Class Coupe does a pretty good job of carrying on the gracefulness of earlier S class coupes. Rewind a few decades, and it’s possible to enjoy some classic pillarless coupe motoring on a budget. First up is this low mileage 1994 S500 coupe for sale in Florida in classic silver on black leather.

1964 Porsche 904GTS

Race homologation is a beautiful thing. Sure, it may be a pain for automotive manufacturers, especially the low volume ones. However, it’s brought enthusiasts a number of tempting cars with race pedigree they can use on the street everyday. I’m not sure how often one would use a vintage Porsche 904GTS on the street, but it’s entirely possible. This car was developed for the FIA-GT class and would be the first Porsche to utilize a ladder chassis and fiberglass bodywork. Only 106 were ever produced, this example for sale in Germany was owned by a gentlemen in Sweden for 44 years, having been entered into competition for a few events early in its life.

1988 Porsche 924S Special Edition

Pablo from flüssig magazine is back to highlight this late model, one of 500 1988 Porsche 924S Special Edition.

I have a thing for women with wide hips.

The cars that I have in my collection reflect this. The 993, 944, and 968; each of them sensually wide at the flanks giving them a sort of feminine muscularity you seldom see on other marques.

I also have a thing for narrow hips on the fairer sex…not taking a preference for one or the other is a testament to the dual personality that’s typical of all Geminis.

You see, even though the wide hips suggest strength, power if you like, the narrow ones speak of nimbleness, agility; a sort of lightness that gives her edge in all things calling for performance. This is precisely why I fell in love with this 924S.

This is not just any old 924S, however; no, no…this one is a very special version of which only 500 were made for the US market and they’re all clothed in black. In fact, very few Porschephiles know that such a version exists, yet here is one that’s got the numbers to prove it. First let me give you a little primer on the S before getting a bit more intimate with SN450529.
