Theme Week: 2007 Audi RS4 Sedan

In celebration of Audi week here at GCFSB, here is the car that brought the RS4 badge stateside.  The “RS” initials are taken from the German term RennSport, which is literally translated as “racing sport”, and these cars lived up to that name in grand fashion.  Used as showcases for Audi’s latest technologies, the RS cars are the things that Audi enthusiasts lust after the world over.

In 2007,  Audi released the RS4 Sedan to the US market.  This was the first time an RS4 was offered as a sedan, rather than the Avant.  At first glance there are few differences between the RS4, and an S4, but the differences are many.  Mechanically, the RS4 is fitted with the same 420hp 4.2L V8 used in the R8, vs. the 340hp version found in the S4.  But the differences don’t end there, the RS4 also featured Audi’s Dynamic Ride Control for improved handling, lightweight magnesioum control arms, and an almost 2″ wider track.  In the styling department, the RS4 also featured aluminum front body panels to improve weight distribution, wider arches front and rear to accomodate the wider track, and larger side vents used to cool the additional radiators.

This Mugello Blue over black (ad says Sprint Blue, but that is incorrect) for sale in Carrollton, Texas is an example of an well looked after daily driver.

These have to be one of my favorite Audis of recent years, however I do wish they had offered the Avant in the states.  The Mugello Blue is one of my favorite Audi colors, as it’s a refreshing change from the Black, Silver, or Grey RS4s that you more commonly see.  The price of $39,900 on this car is about $2,000 below retail, and that is certainly appropriate considering there are a few issues with the car that need to be addressed. With the missing manual, and the fact that it will need tires soon, I’d be more willing to pay around $37,000 for this car.  All things considered this RS4 is only priced about $5,000 above your ordinary B7 S4, and for that you get much more car, and one that few others have.

2005 Audi Allroad 4.2

In a market where large SUVs still reign supreme, the Audi Allroad is a breath of fresh air.  In 2001 Audi brought the Allroad to the US market as an addition to the C5 A6 roster. Compared to the regular A6, the Allroad featured height adjustable air suspension, allowing for increased ground clearance; larger wheels with all-terrain tires, and the trademark unpainted body cladding. These options coupled with Audi’s legendary Quattro AWD, transformed the A6 in to a station wagon that was as capable off road as a Land Rover, while still keeping its road manners.

This Allroad for sale in New Jersey represents the top of the line for Audi Avants in 2005. With all available options, the stunning black paint, and the desirable 4.2 V8 this car represents the pinnacle of the Allroad. In 2013 Audi is releasing the A4 version of the Allroad after an 8 year absence. Cars like this will offer a good option for buyers that love the new one, but don’t love the mid $40K price tag.

2005 Audi Allroad 4.2 on eBay.com

HERE is a 2005 Audi Allroad 4.2L V8 Fully Loaded Avant!!!
This car has every option available. It is a one owner car that has been garaged its entire career. Allroad owners hate to let it go but with 4 other cars in the house; it is time to part ways. I recently changed two tires and have two brand new Pirelli P Zero tires that will be sold with the car. 245/45/18 and have a set of 17 inch wheels with Blizzack snow tires that is available if buyer wants them.

This car is LOADED. Navigation, rear parking sensors, MP3 SD Card slots, Fully adjustable air supspension (recently just spent $3500 fixing air shock and CDV Boot) 6 disc CD Changer in trunk, BOSE Surround sound system, XM Radio, Full Climate Control, Front and Rear Heated seats, recently new Allroad Weather Mats, Xenon headlights, factory painted door sills (other Audis have plastic on the trim on the sides, this model was painted to the bottom) rear window shade, cargo net, fold down rear seats, Power sunroof with tilt and shade, auto dimming and power folding mirrors, HEATED steering wheel (my favorite) four link front suspension… the list goes on!

This motor is 4.2 L V8 (Audi S4 motor essentially) 300HP 5 speed Tiptronic Transmission. Oil changes done on time. This car was babied…
MSRP around $62,000 … Keep in mind the car is USED so there is scratches on bumper etc… Its not PERFECT! Its an AMAZING all around car and is defintely the BEST car Audi has made and it is a total shame they discontinued it! Title is in hand. Buyer pays in full and title will be handed over.

Please contact me with any questions regarding the vehicle. Car is located in Emerson, NJ. Serious buyers only! Bid with confidence and if you have zero feedback, please consider contacting me first before bidding. Asking $17,500, offers will be considered!

This Allroad has everything I look for when considering an Allroad, from the color, to the 4.2 V8, this is a car that I would buy myself.  Any Audi enthusiast knows, the major issues that plague these cars are the 2.7 bi-turbo engine, and the air suspension. With the 4.2 V8 option, the very high maintenance 2.7 bi-turbo engine is not an issue. This only leaves the problems with the air suspension.  Over time corrosion on the aluminum shock body and air fittings eventually leads to leaks, and the only fix is to replace the whole assembly.

All things considered, the $17,500 asking price is reasonable for a car in this condition, and with these options. Seeing as the seller is open to offers, this car would be well bought at the $16,000 mark.
