1987 BMW M6

$_57 (2)
As E30s go bonkers, E24s continue to be the dark horse in the 80s M-cars race to the top of the appreciation charts. Those who know appreciate the great styling, fantastic engine, and impeccable cruising ability. Those who don’t, well – don’t; they see it slip by as innocuously as any other old Bimmer. Today’s comes in a very subdued blue (sublued?) with just 68k miles. The asking price of $24.5k seems, for once, pretty darn reasonable. You could drive this another 30k miles in the next 5-10 years and sell it for a hefty profit, having a great time while doing so.

My guess is that an older gentleman has decided it’s time to get rid of his M6, can’t use the internet, and doesn’t know exactly how valuable these M-cars are about to get. If you’re reading this, you do, so if you have some investment income, this is going to be a better bet than Wall Street.

Awesome find. Precisely the combination that I’d want, except maybe a late 88/Euro build. Compared to 911/E30/Ur-Quattro/M5 prices, this just seems like a solid bargain.

I like it, a lot. I’ve been looking for one just like this, but the high miles, worries me.
I’m going to wait for a garage queen. Long-term, you spend less.

@audemars- 68k miles is nothing. The big question mark with these is the maintenance. Seals and gaskets dry out in a car that doesn’t get driven, so an M car with some miles in the log book means, along with receipts, that it is able to be used as intended!

where do you start with this one…
nice low mileage car….nice color combo…..OEM TRX rims..not so much…but not a biggie at all…
ask is at the high end of the market for this….
the nits to pick with this will come from what type of maintenance was performed…
what exactly is the title issue?….and frankly I hope the guy has many more pictures before skooting over to Utah….the ones he posted leave much to the imagination…
other than that what is not to like about a Shark???
