Sure you can find 928S4’s with 5 speeds and even the occasional GT and GTS (with serious markups to match!) But when was the last time you saw a reasonable mileage 928S4 in black on black with a 5 speed? Especially at only $16k! Another car that my Dad and I have a weakness for. After all, this was supposed to be the successor to the 911 when first penned in the mid 70’s. While it obviously didn’t end up being the replacement, it still demonstrates the forward thinking and engineering prowess of Porsche to design a car in the 70’s that continued to sell from 1977 to 1993. There isn’t anything quite like it and in person it still draws me in like a magnet.
Naturally the Porsche 928 should be regarded like a used e32 7 series BMW: More features equals more to break. But when service history is documented and a PPI checks out, and you’ve always wanted one, well, time to negotiate with the wife again!
