It takes a bit for me to be interested in writing up E30 M3s. Maybe it’s the popularity, or the expensive-and-rising values, but the topic seems a bit overcooked these days. Today’s is an interesting package though, matching the common S52 swap with the E46’s 6-speed manual, all wrapped in a very clean and stock body with a cleanly redone interior. Pretty complete for those who don’t care about the technicalities of being all-original but love ///M with a passion. This is about the most attractive modified E30 M3 I’ve seen in a while, and it’s price is accordingly ridiculous.

Rebuilt titles should never get $40k. Once we get over that, I really like this E30. It really looks amazing inside and out and the 6-speed/S52 combo must be fantastic to drive. Props to the execution, but a resounding “BOOOOOOOOOO” to the price.

Honestly, that seems like an absurd price:
#1. rebuilt title – regardless of how small the accident is a serious problem on a car that is collectable.
#2. the lack of an S14 should take the price way down as that further reduces the collectability
No doubt an amazing looking car, looks well sorted and well done and probably a blast to drive. Lots of money in does not = lots of money out.
This car reminds me of the old saying: the fact you CAN do something does not mean you SHOULD do it.
My mother told me not to say anything if you can’t say something nice….
BUT as I own an 89 E30 M3 original everything, less suspension components & exhaust….with less miles than this…I hope he gets 37k….LMAO
The S52B32 US engine doesn’t exactly make the foundation of any “holy grail…for BMW fanatics around the world…”
If I had a low mileage S52 engine I might be inclined to put it into a clean e30, but an e30 M3? No, not my style personally. They didn’t even do cams or bigger injectors in the engine!
Something M3 fans around the world might like might be an e30 s14 Evo engine. This mill in that car (not to mention thinking the next buyer will automatically value the things you’ve put in at a pretty full retail cost), I just can’t quite get my head around.
There’s an e30 racing tribute car (saw a link on bringatrailer, maybe here too) that at least seems truer to the car’s roots, allure, and classiness. And it has some more well thought out mods like suspension and multiple areas of subframe & shock tower reinforcement…those are at least the things I want going through the head of the previous owner of a highly modified car to be thinking. With this torque upgrade over stock, damaging the subframe is a serious concern. But hey at least it already has a salvage title.
“Top of the line red paint”. Ha. It certainly sounds impressive when you describe it like that.
Also you’re selling a modified Franken-Beemer for almost $40k, it doesn’t instil confidence in the prospective buyer when you use the phrase “break lines”
What do your think this car should sell for !!! What’s the value on a salvage e30
