The C class is one of those cars that people tend to use as a durable good. Whether it’s for taxi use in Germany or as a daily commuter here in the US, many of these cars have covered a good bit of miles. I racked up over 80,000 miles on a 1998 C230 and a friend of mine is still enjoying that car to this day. But, like the 1995 C220 in our Feature Listing gallery, this 1997 C280 Sport for sale outside of Philadelphia has escaped the ravages of time with only 52,000 miles on the clock. The Sport package added blacked out exterior trim, carbon fiber look trim in place of the traditional wood inside, a smaller diameter steering wheel, tighter suspension and 15†AMG alloy wheels.

We have supplied many detailed photos to give you an accurate sense of the extremely nice condition of this sporty sedan. We photograph our cars outdoors in natural light. Hence, there maybe shadows cast on the vehicle due to the conditions in which the photos were taken. If you are unclear of anything please contact us!
Inside we found an extremely clean and spacious cabin! The automatic transmission shifts flawlessly and the 2.8 liter 6 cylinder engine offers smooth power when called upon.
This early C class sport package is a lot less comprehensive than later attempts, but still gives this car a bit of an edge over the cooking variety C280. Even in good condition, these non-AMG W202s aren’t bringing big dollars, and with this particular car we’re at the top of the market for a C class of this year and mileage. It is refreshing to see one that has survived with its original wheels intact, though, even if they look small in comparison to the aftermarket selection of today.

Interesting that it needed a ball joint & drag link at such low miles. Maybe it had clipped a curb.
The owner seems to have taken very good care of the car.
I always like to see things like brake fluid changes as an indication of detailed maintenance.
Does this model have head gasket problems???
This looks like a wonderful purchase for someone.
I think the wife would love this car if the air conditioning ran cold.
The interior is perfect!
If I did not need something that can tow I would probably buy it.
(ohh RWD, I will be searching tow ratings next ! )
