Here’s a Forest Green Metallic, Tannengrün, 986 Boxster S with just 51k miles. I think what makes this especially noteworthy is that someone not only special ordered the unique green color, which is relatively rare according to the PCA site Rennbow, they went all the way with green seats as well.
The options sticker isn’t posted and the VIN has been left out of the listing and seller’s website as well. These are rather important pieces of information for most Porsche buyers because without this evidence potential buyers and viewers tend to leap to their own conclusions. In this case I’d like to verify the option code for the paint and the interior (if that gets specified on the sticker) and of course a CarFax report as well to verify the one owner history and any potentially reported accidents.
Another interesting thing I spotted in this listing is the flawless top. I almost wanted to reach out to the dealer to find out what detailing products were used to make the 23 year old top look that good. But upon seeing the glass rear window I suspect the entire top has been replaced as the original window in the pre-facelift Boxster was plastic.
Unfortunately no 996/986 post is complete without mentioning the IMS bearing. There is no mention of it here and though failure rates are pretty low depending on which source you trust, it’s another sales point for many potential buyers. Figure another couple thousand for peace of mind or just to make it more appealing in a future sale.

$24k was a strong ask for a 986 Boxster not so long ago but values are on the rise. In fact Hagerty is showing #2 – #3 condition cars valued at $27-19k! Personally I think a full detail to help rejuvenate the seats and carpets in particular would really help, not to mention pictures shot anytime other than right in the middle of the day would help show off the color better. That and a more detailed history could help elevate this car for the right buyer.

I’m headed to car max tomorrow morning. She has been a good truck, but…
If that isn’t enough I’ll find that guy that tried to buy my dog a couple of weeks ago. That will do it…
Beverly Hills Car Club! Look out. Shadiest dealer in the city.
Red flags flying!
É realmente uma Linda Porsche, mais no momento estou interessado na Mercedes Cabriolet.
Obrigado
