2001 BMW 740i Sport

On July 27, 2001, the last E38 BMW 7 series rolled off the production line. Picking up the baton was a car that polarized the BMW faithful. The E65 7 series. People rushed to buy the last of the E38s before none could be had. These were magnificent vehicles, and towards the end, the M Sport package added a few tweaks that worked amazingly well on such a large sedan. This lower mileage E38 is a nice example of the last of the breed.

2001 BMW 740i M Sport on BMW CCA Classifieds

4.4-liter V8, 282 hp, 324 lb-ft torque, M sport & premium pkgs, built 4/01, maple-wood trim, glass sunroof, power windows & door locks, a/c, power seats w/memory, xenon HID lights, telephone connectivity, rear window/passenger sunshade, BMW premium audio, DVD-based widescreen nav, M steering wheel, traction control, dual climate control, alarm/anti-theft system, remote keyless entry, 18″ staggered M wheels/tires, mechanically perfect, cosmetically great w/minor paint chips & door dings, great interior (no stains, tears, rips or scratches on carpet, leather or trim), no accidents, one owner, clean title, rarely driven (weekends), dealer maintained, always garaged, drives flawlessly, clean, passed smog emissions, excellent condition.

With only 60k miles, this is a decent price for a lot of car maintained to a respectable standard. I always enjoy perusing the BMW Car Club of America’s Classifieds because more often than not, the best examples of the breed come up for sale in such a venue. This E38 is no exception.

Beautiful car and I have interest. Unfortunately, I cannot access the website (“fatal error”). Could you tell me the price and who to call?

    Thanks

    Hi Chris,

I just went back on BMW CCA’s classifieds and it appears the ad has been pulled. Occasionally, this happens from time to time when scheduling our posts, certain cars are so popular that by the time the ad goes live, it may have been sold. If I happen to see the ad reappear, I’ll let you know.

    Thanks for visiting GCFSB,

    Paul

The ad has been taken down. In my experience cars which are priced well go fast on the BMW CCA website.

You’re right Wes. Over the weekend, there was an E39 M5 on eBay with 20k-ish miles at a price of $35k, and in the same afternoon, it sold for an offer of $31k. Mint E38s that are priced right are just like E39s; people want them, are willing to pay and they go fast.
