I’ve been trying to find VW vans that provide more affordable alternatives to the Westfalia, which has become the E30 M3 of camper vans. Well, today’s Ivory example shows that these German mini-RVs are as treasured as the color’s namesake with a very serious asking price complementing low-mileage and some choice upgrades. While the South African lights are great and the exterior condition shows the garaged life, the interior is not the nicest we’ve seen. You could buy a brand-new, fully-loaded GTI for $10k less, making some shake their heads and walk away. Some will see this as a low-mileage gem, however, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see the seller get something not too far off the asking price.

The original Giugiaro Scirocco is a thing of beauty to this day, with sharp lines that come together distinctively. It’s a shame that most Mk1 Sciroccos are dead or beat within an inch of their life, but today’s is a refreshingly clean and cared-for example. Taken just on looks and the cleanliness of the engine bay, it’s a heck of car. Unfortunately, while the description attempts to be detailed with a photo of (I think?) maintenance and improvements, the seller is not familiar with resolution requirements, leaving quite a few questions to be answered before the steep asking price is paid.

3 CommentsA lot of the Unimogs I write up are interesting fire trucks or post-military vehicles, but the Mog is capable in many more arenas. Some Mogs look tougher than they’ve actually been used, but there is no question that this 406 is a straight up worker. With a front loader and a rear digger, along with several augers to be attached to the front and rear power take-offs, you could take down a forest and dig for gold, then haul it out on the flat bed.

Comments closedThe Mk1 Volkswagen Jetta we featured last week is back up for sale at no reserve. You don’t see a lot of these first generation Jettas knocking around anymore, so grab a good one when you can!

Comments closedBack before EVERY DAMN CAR ON THE ROAD had gills/portholes/slices on the front fender, it was a distinctive mark on the BMW Z3. The silver slash that marked the M versions is even more eye-catching, and yanked my head around yesterday in the constant hunt for ///Ms. Today we have the wee beasty original M Roadster, a handsome convertible that may not have the following the Miata but certainly scores a few more masculinity points. This silver example has covered less than 35k miles on the not-quite-as-sweet S52 inline-6, which will help the price stay sane while keeping the exhaust note sweet.
