Our friends over at MotoringConBrio.com have impeccable taste in cars, as evidenced by their unique photo choices in the weekly “Assorted Grab Bag of Things We Like.” They have a way of reinforcing my car tastes, making me constantly say “Yes! Exactly! I didn’t think anyone else thought quite like that!” while often expanding my horizons, like thinking “Oh damn, you’re right: that French car IS hot.” Case in point; their current garage holds a Euro-bumpered E28 M5 and an E36 M3 sedan. If this isn’t your first time reading this blog, I need not explain more.

Well, apparently the time has come to focus the collection and the E36 didn’t make the cut. A hesitant seller means a lucky buyer, and whoever snags this E36 is among the latter. A clean daily driver with outstanding performance, it exemplifies this model’s aptitude for carving corners with a baby seat in the back. Well-priced with middling miles, MCB writes a description like someone who has read and critiqued a hell of a lot of car ads; succinct with all pertinent info and full honesty. This car won’t last long.

1981 BMW 320i

The BMW 320 IMSA racer we featured Monday got its fair share of attention, but if you are a fan of the street variety E21, check out this nicely preserved 1981 320i for sale in South Carolina. The car has been repainted in its original Cosmos Blue Metallic and comes with records for the entire life of the vehicle. If you’ve been searching for the right E21, this is one that deserves more than a passing glance.

1988 BMW M3

When M3 prices first started to shoot up a few years ago, I thought maybe it could be another bubble. With values on the rise and other M cars basking in the glow of this, it seems the days of the affordable early M car may be over. They were never cheap cars to get into in terms of a maintenance scenario. Just ask E28 owner and GCFSB staffer, Nate. However, even initial purchase costs are putting them beyond the reach of some enthusiasts. Every time I turn around, it seems that prices continue to escalate and this 1988 M3 for sale in San Francisco is no exception. This car is nearing 100,000 miles and is priced well above $40,000. Is this the new norm, or are we seeing the market peak for now?

1997 BMW M3 Sedan with 17k miles

I’ve seen a host of E36 M3 sedans around this week, some great (businessmom in a technoviolet, one in byzanz), some medium (plain white with that spoiler I can’t stand), and some beat to hell (grey with broken everything). They’re always on my radar due to nostalgia and a belief that it would make an incredible daily driver. Today’s example, a creampuff doted upon by the owner’s late father, might not be suited for daily driver duty. At the same time, I’m not sure E36 values are going to really skyrocket, so if you want to drive the best/”newest” E36 around, this is probably it.

1998 BMW M3 Sedan

Oftentimes, as car enthusiasts, we face a dilemma. Sure, we want a fast car, but more often than not, performance comes with a bit of discomfort. Most of us like the fun of a manual gearbox, but for those who live in urban areas like myself, it gets to be a bit tiresome in the stop and go traffic. What to do, then? Well, the E36 BMW M3 sedan is a good place to start when it comes to automotive compromise. Four doors, powerful inline-6 under the hood and the availability of an automatic gearbox, such as the car we see here for sale in Florida. Dakar Yellow is a loud color if you are seeking to go unnoticed, but it’s a rare hue, for those who would like to be different.
