2007 Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe

I know I’m not exactly throwing out a hot take here, but the 997 generation Porsche 911 Turbo seems to be aging well. It unmistakably looks like a 911 and doesn’t have odd or dated design elements like a certain prior generation. Inside it’s also a perfectly pleasant place to be. Yes, the infotainment system is not great, but as long as you aren’t using it for navigation, it is perfectly serviceable. Performance wise, still really fast with 0-60 runs in the high 3 second range. What isn’t to like? Well, it still is an expensive car both to buy and service, as demonstrated by the 2007 up for sale in North Carolina. I’ve purchased my cars for less than the most recent service bill. Come check it out.

2007 Porsche 911 Turbo

The 997 Porsche 911 Turbo is quickly becoming a car to buy and hold, and recent prices are reflecting that. I think it might be a little bit of “rising tide lifts all boats” now that GT3 prices are shooting up along with basically every other 911, but there is an argument to be had for these pre-facelift models being total bargains compared to the GT cars. I don’t think I am alone here, and prices for the 997 are never going to be any cheaper.

Today’s car, a 2007 up for sale in Indiana, is a paint-to-sample example finished in Nordic Gold Metallic with a Special Cocoa leather interior. Not exactly a silver-over-black model we are all used to, but surely something you can live with given this will likely be a reactional car. The catch is, I hope you won’t miss the clutch pedal.

2006 Porsche Cayman S

Green and brown is like chocolate and peanut butter to me. Smooth all the way. If I ever went the route of actually spec’ing a car from new, it would be a nice dark green, over some kind of tan of brown leather. I’m sure I’m not alone in this, so when this 2006 Porsche Cayman S popped up for sale, I naturally had to take a closer look. Forest Green Metallic over Special Cocoa Leather. Yes, please. However, once I started taking that closer look, it didn’t seem so lovely anymore. Let me explain.

2009 Porsche 911 Targa 4S

The 997.2 Porsche 911 Targa was the last of the sliding roof versions that started with the 993 and ended with the intro of the 991 generation that got extremely complicated. Without looking close enough, you can assume that they are just regular coupes and maybe that is what Porsche was going for. If you happen to see one, they are rare. Only about 3,000 997.2 Targas were made, as compared to the 10s of thousands in the regular coupe bodies. This 2009 for sale in Washington is finished in the classic Carrara White with the Cocoa special leather. The perfect daily driver?
