I usually don’t get too fired up about restored VW vans. They aren’t really sporting in nature and just not that interesting to me. Then the fellow down the street started to restore one. It was a fascinating process to behold, every time I left the house I had to stop and chat him up. Little by little he made his way through the arduous process of rebuilding one of these vans. His finished product is a thing of beauty, much like this 1964 Kombi.

I have not seen one of these in as long as I can remember and I am certain it was nowhere near this nice. Kudos to the seller on a fantastic restoration, pictures, and description.
Bidding currently sits at $17,750 with no reserve, this van will sell. $20k seems reasonable but I would not be surprised if this van fetched more.

Way cool…in that “it’s really cool, but it’s really not my style” kind of way.
Well put Larry.
I don’t like it. Engine wrong for year and of unknown manufacture which could be very bad.
Interior is not at all correct which is a shame because this model had great layouts. Clumsy the way the seat behind the driver has been jammed in there.
This model is very rare for this US but endless the seller did all the work himself he likely cut corners to sell it at this price. A decent paint job from a pro with some rust repair would be 8 grand at least.
I own a 71 Bus I’ve restored I should know.
I’m with Larry. It would catch my interest at a car show but I have no desire whatsoever to own it.
Sold for $27k, wow!
There’s a sucker born every minute.
This is a scam, the same identical bus is being advertised on the following for $10,000.

To good to be true, this is easily a $30,000 bus. At auction I saw a 64 in this stated condition sell for $38,000. This bus would already been pick off at the $10,000 price released 4 days ago.
