We’ve seen some cool 2002s around GCFSB, but most have at least some level of modification or updating. Today’s 2002tii comes in the amazing Riviera Blue, a subtle hue that suits the vintage lines perfectly and is a new personal favorite. Having been with just two owners and covering less than 70k miles in its four decades years, it has been very well cared for and shows a few spots of patina but overall is in incredible shape. The all-original look, especially with this color and wheel combo, makes it hard to imagine a modified ’02 looking any better.

Excellent opportunity to buy “Jules” a well kept 2002Tii that is perfect for a collector or enthusiast. She has been in our family for over 10 years. She still wears her original blue plates (hence the name Jules) and stock hub caps.
We purchased it from the first owner in San Francisco in 2004. He originally bought this roundie from Peter Pan BMW in San Mateo Ca. It’s an all original stock condition 2002Tii that is in amazing shape for 40 plus years old. It has always been garaged and well maintained. One of my favorite original options is the chrome bumper overrider bars.
If you have been chasing one of these cars this may be the one you have waited for. Prices have been climbing on the Tii models and they are getting tough to find in original no rust condition. This car has the stock motor and 4-speed transmission. The car has been kept stock over the years without any modifications. The paint is 70 percent original. The factory color is Riveria Blue. One of the best looking vintage colors on the 02s. The paint been polished by an over zealous detailer and and some of the hood paint has burns on the hood corners (see pics).
Rust is pretty much non existent on this car since it is a no sunroof car. This 2002Tii has spent its whole life in the garage. One or two small minuscule spots of surface rust (see pics).
Super clean floors, rockers, spare tire well and shock towers. The original Michelin spare is still in tact in the well. The trunk boards are excellent and not sagging. Even comes with a matching trunk carpet mat from when car was new. Original factory am radio works like a charm. Center speaker sounds great just like the car was new.
The car runs and drives perfectly. Motor starts right up with one click. Rare for a Tii 🙂 The transmission is tight and smooth. The shifter is very tight and crisp. Each gear selection goes smoothly and effortlessly. Brakes and suspension feel equally as smooth. Its a real delight driving this car. If you have owned one before you will know what I mean.
The car is being sold with the factory stock steel wheels which were just powder coated in the original finish. The hub caps are original condition. You will see in some pics that I previously had some Mini lite wheels but they are not being sold with the car. In addition Im keeping the stock Recaro netted head rests.
Car is located in SF California.
With the reserve off, this Neue Klasse is going to find a very happy new home. One black mark is the odd statement that he’s keeping the head rests, especially after so much care to keep it original. I suppose the new owner can look for some others? It’s located in San Francisco and is thus quite tempting, but the price will probably go well into the $20ks, which makes it a beautiful but too-dear classic for me.
