1984 Volkswagen GTI For Sale: Clean, Original, and Affordable

Here’s a very clean looking 1984 Volkswagen GTi for sale on VWVortex. The seller is in Portland and from the looks of it, this car has been in the Northwest most if it’s life with no rust. That interior is nearly spotless too; check out the condition of those seats!

quote from seller’s listing on VWVortex:
This is a very stock/original GTI. 133k on the motor (1.8 8v JH) and trans (4k). Modest performance enhancements, upper and lower stress bars, 60/40 cup kit, TT short shift kit, dual outlet exhaust and downpipes with TT cat back, just put in a brand new battery too. AC works and blows cold. Currently stored indoors as it has been for the past 5-6 years.

Interior is as nice as you will find. Redone headliner and seats, uncracked and uncut dash, all trim pieces in place. Rear seat and parcel shelf are awesome. Recently installed a Concord two knob deck with decent dash and rear speakers.

Body has zero rust, sunroof was recently rebuilt, all doors and ignition are keyed the same, rubber is uncracked and fresh. Just had the pinch-welds straightened and undercoated. a new decal kit installed, and had the bumpers powder-coated. Clear-coat is great on the entire car with the exception of the top of the drivers side fender. This is not the cars original fender. I replaced it after it got dented when parked. It was the nicest OG paint I could find.

What’s “wrong” with it:
– Rear sprayer for the wiper doesn’t work.
– That’s it!

I’m not sure what else there is. It’s really a nice example of a stock 25 year old GTI.

I’m asking $4,500 firm.

As a long time MK1 and MK2 VW fan, I’d have to say it’s been since high school since I saw a Rabbit GTi this clean and original. While $4500 may seem like a lot to some, good luck finding one this nice for less.

Update: This post is out of date and the item listed is probably not available any more. Why not take a look at the VW GTI’s and parts that are currently for sale!

I sold this car to the current owner and can attest to this condition, it is as advertised. This car has had the proper care and alot $$$ spent to keep it that way.
