For those of you who read GCFSB daily, you are no doubt familiar with the E30 BMW M3. In the last few years, this DTM car for the street has seen a steep rise in price, especially in light of the fact that the M3 badge was retired for the two-door, 3 series M car. The first M3 was a very different beast from its 3 series brethren, with a race-bred 2.3 liter twin cam four cylinder engine, bespoke bodywork and upgraded brakes and suspension. While some prefer the power and torque of the six-cylinder E30s, there is something magical about driving a car that was strongly connected to its racing roots. This M3 for sale in Miami has slightly under 70,000 miles on the clock and had a respray a few years back.

Real 1988 E30 M3 S14
This is a rare opportunity to own the iconic M3 that started everything in its stock form. The Fact is that it has a race breed engine, the fact that is the “Ultimate Driving Machine” the Bavarians have ever put out, its unmatched number of victories in DTM road racing a par to none, and the fact that is far more rare then its successors making this one of the most overall wanted Bmw’s EVER produced with only about 16,000 total were ever made, and just over 5,000 sold to the U.S.
Originally owned by a BMW Tech, this e30 has been well maintained all its life. And definitely shows for it…
Recent maintenance includes New Spark Plugs, Oil change 20w – 50 Royal Purple engine air filter, new coolant tank, coolant flush and changed to BMW blue coolant, e36 M3 chain tensioner, A/C recharged. This S14 pulls hard through all the gears, transmission has no worn synchros and clutch is on the money. Compression test was just ran on the car and all cylinders are 175 psi – 180 psi. Leakdown was within 10% through all the cylinders as well.
The exterior of the car is beautiful, Older repaint but presents well with some minor flaws. Body is very straight and rust free, and really shows all the lines of the famous boxed fenders in this beautiful silver. The interior looks amazing, leather is all in great condition… dash is free of any cracks, minimal wear on the wheel looks brand new!
Take advantage while you can, these cars will continue to skyrocket… very few stock s14’s with low mileage left available. Don’t regret not buying the best BMW ever made.

We’ve seen some M3s with this kind of mileage hover in the mid $30,000 to mid $40,000 territory, so the asking price here is not far off the mark, steep as it may seem. A respray was mentioned, and while there’s no talk of work to the interior, I’m curious to know whether the leather had been replaced at some point. It looks almost too new to have been original. It seems that in the last few months prices have settled down a bit. I tend to doubt whether a big crash will be coming for the E30 M3 market, prices might deflate a little at most. How much more they can rise remains to be seen.
