We’re all big fans of the E24 6 series here at GCFSB, particularly the M6. Given my distaste for the current crop of new BMWs, I have dreams of getting my hands on a clean, original M6 some day. They were, and still are, one of my favorite cars from the 1980s. This M6 for sale in California is closing in on 100,000 miles and looks sharp in Zinnoberrot.

THE BODY AND TRIM
As I hope is articulated in the photos here, the body, trim and paint of this M6 are in excellent to mint condition overall with a few small blemishes, nicks, and imperfections. This is absolutely one of the most beautiful BMW designs ever to grace the roadways!THE INTERIOR
The interior of this car is in very good to excellent condition overall! All of the controls and gauges work as they should from the cold A/C to the onboard computer to the electric windows and sunroof. The leather, headliner, dash and carpets are all in very good clean condition. There is some slight typical wear on the left side of the driver seat bolster.THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE
This M6 starts, runs and drives VERY WELL. The engine has great smooth power with fabulous high-revving “MOTORSPORT” acceleration, the transmission shift beautifully with added UUC short shift kit. The braking is strong and true with excellent pedal feel. The suspension is slightly stiff and quite stout free of any clunks or rattles with excellent tracking. This car is an absolute joy to motor down the open road at either double or triple digits!
Even with 100,000 miles, this M6 still has a lot of life left in it. Average prices for these coupes are ranging between $15,000 to $20,000 these days, with exceptional examples commanding $25,000 to $30,000. I’d say the Buy It Now is a bit over what I’d pay, given the mileage. The car certainly looks clean and it’s no secret that M6 values are beginning to creep up, but I’d want to see somewhere around 60,000 to 75,000 on the clock for that kind of money. I’d say anywhere between $16,000 and $18,000 might be a good estimate for where this M6 will wind up.

Not enough supporting history to support a $21K BIN. It sure looks good, but…we have no idea about the what the car has been through, and what kind of care it’s had. Such a beautiful design though…
Love these.
However they are as heavy as a E34 M5 IIRC and those can be had for $10 as i’ve recently confirmed. So………. E34 M5 for me?
Probably wouldn’t want a M6 unless it was euro. I like the E28 too much.
