Just when I thought I’ve seen every conceivable color combination on a 1990s era 928, along comes this car. Behold this Wimbeldon Green Metallic 928GTS with a midnight green leather interior. Equipped with a 5-speed gearbox, this one was ordered new from Holbert’s Porsche, not far from my neck of the woods outside of Philadelphia. If you aren’t familiar with this dealership, this was the one owned by the father of Al Holbert, five time champion of the IMSA Camel GT series. This 928GTS was owned by a Porsche Club of America member and it’s not a vehicle appropriate for shrinking violets.

I’m usually one for unique color combinations but I think the green interior is just a bit too 1990s for my tastes. You have to hand it to Porsche, though, for continuing to offer a wide spectrum of exterior and interior colors to cater to all kinds of folks. Each time another clean, low mileage 928GTS comes up for sale it seems the prices creep up just a bit, but ever so steady. This one is price at the top of the range for a Condition #1 vehicle according to Hagerty. The color combination may hold this one back a bit, but then again, there might be one 928 enthusiast out there as we speak looking for this exact car.

Love this green and love the model but there is too much sheet metal here for this color. There was a Wimbledon smaller Porsche on here a bit ago that looked super.
Very nice car, very annoying add.
@Z – agreed, it has about 65 surplus exclamation points(!)
I know nothing about Porsche color names, but shouldn’t “Wimbledon” be a more earthy green and less teal? And at midnight all I see is black, no greens. 😉
Cool car though, grating ad.
Looks very similar to the VW color from the same era
