Back before EVERY DAMN CAR ON THE ROAD had gills/portholes/slices on the front fender, it was a distinctive mark on the BMW Z3. The silver slash that marked the M versions is even more eye-catching, and yanked my head around yesterday in the constant hunt for ///Ms. Today we have the wee beasty original M Roadster, a handsome convertible that may not have the following the Miata but certainly scores a few more masculinity points. This silver example has covered less than 35k miles on the not-quite-as-sweet S52 inline-6, which will help the price stay sane while keeping the exhaust note sweet.

This 1998 BMW M Roadster is in like new condition. The vehicle runs and drives like new, no mechanical issues. Rare color combo Silver on Red Interior. Wont find another one in this condition. Only 34,000 Miles LOW MILES. This is a ONE OWNER vehicle. Couple minor issues. 1. Finger nail scratch on the truck (wouldnt even see it if i didnt mention it. 2. Plastic seat holder broken on driver side, only $22 from BMW. I am fixing it as we speak. other then that the car is emaculate condition. No accidents.
I don’t hate convertibles as much as I used to, and as I head out for a trip to Highway 1 for the weekend, I can see an M Roadster being a sweet weekend ride. It may give up 75hp to models a few years newer, but you also won’t have to sell a kidney to get it. This is a windblown performance bargain with a ton of miles left to enjoy.
