2006 BMW X5 3.0i

$_3 (1)

It’s hard to believe, but the X5 has been with us for well over a decade now. It seems like yesterday that it was unveiled, shortly after Mercedes-Benz introduced it’s own mid-sized SUV, the ML. The car was a bit of a mash up from other BMWs and had a bit of Land Rover DNA in it. BMW’s brief ownership of the British off-road brand led to certain features like hill descent technology and a split tailgate. This SUV would also be one of the first BMWs to be manufactured in the new South Carolina manufacturing facility. This X5 3.0i for sale near Baltimore is from our reader Scott who is ready to move on to his next ride.

For sale is my 2006 BMW X5. The last year for the E53 model X5. This is a loaded X5 with special order Imola Red paint. This color was only available on the 4.6 and 4.8 X5 vehicles. Imola Red is a BMW Motorsports color typically only offered on their M cars.

This X5 is a 3.0 liter I-6. Better gas mileage than you’ll get with a thirsty V8. Still plenty of power.

The X5 has the following options:

Huge Panoramic Sunroof that opens to reveal sky to even the back seat passengers.
Privacy Glass with Window Shades.
Black headliner.
Premium Package & Sport Package with deeper side bolster support on seats and slightly firmer suspension tuning.
Bluetooth wireless phone connection.
Homelink garage door opener system.
CD Player with FM / Satellite Radio and steering wheel controls.
Xenon headlights with Auto Adjust / Self-Leveling function.
5 speed shiftable Steptronic automatic transmission.

I am the 2nd owner of this X5. I purchased it from BMW of Annapolis as a Certified Pre-Owned car. All service has been performed at authorized BMW dealers with the exception of new front and rear brake pads installed last month.

This X5 is solid with no squeaks or rattles. Built like a Panzer tank. As comfortable to drive as the 5 series sedan upon which it is based & with the extra practicality and all weather capability of an SUV. You will not see a nicer E53 X5 3.0 around.

Being offered by long-time BMWCCA member (since 1993) and car enthusiast. Garage kept.

I’ve seen a few Imola Red X5 4.6is and 4.8is models and have to say that the color works well with the less aggressive look of the 3.0i model. I would love it if this X5 had the 6-speed manual gearbox, but it’s undoubtedly better for resale that this off-roader is equipped with the automatic gearbox. If you’ve been craving one of these early BMW X5s and want one that can return a bit better fuel economy than the V8 version, few are nicer than this enthusiast owned example.
