2022 BMW M4 Competition x KITH

I like to consider myself pretty well-versed in all things BMW. But this one caught me completely by surprise, much like the M2 Edition Designed by Futura 2000 I looked at earlier this year. So what is it?

Like the Futura M2, this one is an appearance package, though instead of a street artist, KITH is a New York-based apparel company. You get a loaded M4 Competition xDrive coupe in one of three matte colors, and outside there are special M/KITH emblems front and rear and a hard-to-miss ///KITH logo on the carbon-fiber roof. Step inside and the M Carbon bucket seats are done in full M/KITH regalia, with debossed Kith-logo headrests and illuminated Kith accents. There are a few more ///Kith logos thrown here and there for good measure. The price for all this special treatment? About $31,000 on top of the M4 Competition xDrive’s ~$80,000 base price. If that feels too pricey for you, not to worry – they only made 150 of them, and they’re already sold. But if you love the package, you can grab this Frozen Dark Silver one right now:

On top of the semi-shocking KITH pricetag, this one also has the M Carbon Exterior, Executive, Driving Assistance Professional packages, which added another $8,200 to the original price tag – which was basically what the seller is looking for here. I have to say, I love the seats. The colors are great and remind me of the crazy Martini 911 interiors. The rest? I don’t think I’d pay the premium, personally – and it doesn’t look like I’m the only one that feels that way.

So you’re spending $30k to splash another company’s name, Kith, on you BMW? BMW M division has jumped the shark.

I love the G80 but not the Kith variant. I cannot see paying a premium for this in any way.

The new BMV’S look so ugly with that huge gaping mouth of a front grill and this thing looks like a total waste of $

I saw a dark grey M3 coupe (I refuse to call it an M4, because that’s just stupid) in person yesterday and can confirm the grille is actually worse in person. It is ENORMOUS. Enormously hideous. Why would BMW beat their entire product lineup with the ugly stick?
